Kelly Hoppen has opened up about why she will always view Sienna Miller as her step daughter, despite no longer being married to her father.
The Princess of Wales’s favourite interior designer Kelly Hoppen was previously married to Hollywood actress Sienna father, American former banker and art dealer Edwin Miller.
The pair tied the knot in 1989 when the actress was just six years old and her sister Savannah was seven.
And, despite the couple divorcing in 2003, Kelly, 64, hates being referred to as the former stepmother of Sienna, 42, and her bridalwear designer sister Savannah, 45.
She explained: ‘I’ve never understood when people say Sienna’s ex-stepmother because if you love a child and you are there for a majority of their childhood, you don’t just switch that off.

‘Ed and I parted on good terms and Savannah calls me Mama K and Sienna calls me Celtic Wizard — we have nicknames for each other.’
Discussing how attitudes to ‘blended families’ were different in the nineties, Kelly added: ‘You’ve got to remember I’m 64 and being stepmum to them was not normal back then – these kinds of extended families.
‘When I used to stand at the school gates, I was frowned upon like I was the other woman, and it was tough for me.’
Kelly, who has one biological daughter, food writer Natasha Corrett says: ‘If I didn’t have Sienna or Savannah, I would have felt cheated that I didn’t have another child.’
Speaking of her relationship with Savannah and Sienna in Mail on Sunday’s YOU magazine in 2020, Kelly said: ‘She [Savannah] and her (actress) sister Sienna are and will always remain two of the most precious people in my life – even though I have been divorced from their father Edwin for 17 years.
‘She calls me Mama K and I call her Sasa. She and Sienna always send me cards and flowers on Mother’s Day, which really touches my heart.’
Meanwhile Sienna recently expanded her family, after she welcomed a baby girl with her boyfriend Oli Green, 27.
The pair were pictured with their newborn in January as they made a stylish outing to a coffee shop in west London in a khaki coat and denim jumpsuit with a £3,300 designer Artipoppe baby carrier strapped to her.

The actress already has daughter Marlowe, 10, from her previous relationship with actor Tom Sturridge, 38.
Sienna’s pregnancy was revealed during a beach holiday in August where she stepped out sporting a bump.
In December Sienna covered Vogue as she spoke for the first time about her pregnancy and revealed she was having a girl.
In incredible photos taken to accompany the interview she displayed her bare bump alongside both Marlowe and boyfriend Oli.
Sienna spoke candidly about her pregnancy and how it had been ‘unplanned’, but admitted she feels ‘more psychologically prepared’ than with her first born.
During the rare interview, Sienna said that Marlowe has been angling for a sibling for some time.
Sienna also said she’d been fighting her own prejudices about being an older mother and has to learn to stop making a joke out of it.
She told the publication: ‘I’d love to get to a point where I didn’t feel the need to make a joke of my being older and having a baby, to show I’m in on the joke.’
And in a video she filmed with Vogue, Sienna revealed that the pregnancy was an unplanned one.
She revealed: ‘I was very fortunate. I wasn’t necessarily trying to get pregnant. This happened as a total surprise and biologically was something I was able to do.’
