Guthrie revealed that she tries not to go back and re-watch her newscasts from the beginning of her career out of embarrassment.
‘I was trying so hard to be grown up,’ Savannah shared.
The newscaster talked about her collection of essays titled Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere.
In it, Guthrie writes about exploring her Christian faith as she answers questions about how religion opens up room for imperfection.
She added that her faith carried her though the passing of her father, her first day at the TODAY show, and in the present.
The author says that writing the book helped her communicate her purpose.
‘People of different faiths or no faith at all…found something that resonates with them,’ Savannah discussed in an interview with the TODAY show.
Through it all, she said that her greatest blessing was becoming a mother.
