Kelly Clarkson says she has used a drug for weight loss, but it was not Ozempic.
The Kelly Clarkson Show host, 42, welcomed Whoopi Goldberg, 68, onto her show on Monday, when they exchanged stories of weight loss medications they have taken.
The Fort Worth, Texas-born star said that doctors prescribed her with a weight loss medication after a blood test.
‘Mine is a different one than people assume, but I ended up having to do that too,’ the A Moment Like This songstress told the EGOT winner.
Clarkson, who shares daughter River Rose, nine, and son Remington Alexander, seven, with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, 47, said her physician insisted she take the medication after repeated efforts to get her on it.

Kelly Clarkson, 42, says she has used a drug for weight loss, but it was not Ozempic
‘My doctor chased me for like two years,’ she said. ‘And I was like, “No, I’m afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems, I was afraid.”
‘Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic, it’s not – it’s something else.’
The My Life Would Suck Without You artist said the medication she takes is ‘something that aids in helping break down the sugar,’ as her ‘body doesn’t do it right.’
Clarkson, presumably speaking about how she didn’t notice that she had progressively gained weight, said that she was taken aback when watching herself on camera at one point.
Clarkson added, ‘Seeing yourself, I didn’t see it … all of a sudden, I was like “Who the f*** is that?”‘
Goldberg said a woman who saw her in the 2022 film Till told her she thought she was wearing a ‘fat suit,’ which she was ‘indignant’ about.
Clarkson reiterated that she had not been paying attention to her weight for some time.
‘It’s a weird thing … I never saw that, I was never insecure about it – I just did not see that,’ Clarkson said.
Goldberg led off the appearance acknowledging she has shed pounds, and had noticed Clarkson had as well.
Goldberg said she had lost as much as ‘two people’ and said she had been taking a ‘wonderful shot that works for folks who need some help.’
