Keith Urbans Friends Expose Painful Nicole Kidman Drama

The first source told the Daily Mail about Urban: 'He's a man in a lot of pain. I've known him for 20 years. This is awful for him.' 

As for the romance rumors said to have driven a wedge between father and daughters, they began swirling the moment Kidman filed for divorce, with whispers that Urban had already set his sights on a younger music industry star. 

One name repeatedly thrust into the spotlight was Maggie Baugh, the 26-year-old country singer who joined Urban on tour last year and sparked chatter over her flirtatious on-stage chemistry with the star.

The speculation quickly snowballed online, though Baugh's friend, Alexandra Kay, later shut the claims down, insisting they were 'absolutely not true.'

Then, in January, Urban found himself battling another round of gossip after being linked to Collins, who opened for him during his 2025 High and Alive world tour.

Collins also firmly denied any romance, dismissing the reports as 'absolutely ridiculous and untrue.' 

Urban has not been seen publicly with Sunday Rose or Faith Margaret since the split in September, while he and Kidman themselves have not been photographed together since June.

Under their January divorce settlement, Kidman retained primary custody of the couple's daughters. 

She has the girls for 306 days of the year, while Urban is allocated 59, including Thanksgiving.

The Daily Mail previously revealed that Urban had initially pushed for 'equal time' with his daughters, leaving Kidman reportedly 'anxious and distressed that he wasn't going to budge.'

His current schedule sees him with the girls from 10am Saturday to 6pm Sunday on alternate weekends. 

Sources say the arrangement reflects Kidman's determination to keep her daughters close following the painful fallout of her first divorce.

The actress famously split from Tom Cruise in 2001 after a decade of marriage, with the pair sharing custody of their adopted children, Isabella, now 33, and Connor, 31.

Both children ultimately chose to remain with Cruise amid their involvement in Scientology - a heartbreak insiders say still deeply affects Kidman today.

With that in mind, Kidman has clearly closed ranks with Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, remaining in the family's sprawling Nashville mansion - a seven-bedroom estate purchased for $3.5 million in 2008 - following the split. 

Urban, meanwhile, is understood to have relocated to a nearby residence last summer, with friends saying the reality of life away from his daughters has hit the country star hard.

The new arrangement became especially painful over the holidays, when Kidman flew to her native Australia with the girls while Urban spent Christmas apart from his family.

The trip also coincided with Faith's milestone 15th birthday celebrations in late December - another family moment Keith reportedly missed.

At the time, athat the dramatic shift in family life had felt like a 'gut punch' for the singer.

But according to a second source close to Urban, the country star is keeping his composure amid the storm. 

Even as Kidman and Sunday Rose's Met Gala appearance grabbed global attention, the insider says Urban's focus was firmly on his eldest daughter.

Sunday Rose turned heads in a strapless pink Dior gown, posing alongside her mother, who dazzled in a bold red sequined Chanel ensemble.

'Keith saw his daughter in her dress and thought she was absolutely beautiful. Other than that, he didn't feel upset that he wasn't there neither did he pay much mind to how Nicole looked,' the second source said.

Still, behind the calm exterior, the insider suspects Urban's stiff upper lip may be hiding deeper fears about the growing distance between himself and the girls.

'Keith can't be petty, because he doesn't want Nicole mad or upset with him,' the source continued. 'Someday they are going to go through different milestones, weddings, birthdays, and Keith will have to be there with Nicole.

'If he gets upset at their mom for everything she does, that will only roll down to them.

'He eventually wants some sort of relationship with Nicole. They are already separated, so there is no need to put more gas on the fire.' 

The insider also insisted the couple is determined not to drag their children into their drama. 

While Keith and Nicole 'may decide to be petty in other avenues,' they are 'leaning on their kids more, because they want them to be OK' and are 'refusing to use them against each other.'

The source added that the pair are mindful not to 'add any more sadness to the situation' and are committed to shielding Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret from the fallout of their split.
