Katy Perry is reportedly under investigation for causing possible environmental infringement while shooting her latest music video for Lifetimes in the Balearic Islands.
The Fireworks songstress, 39 – whose recent video was compared to her 2010 hit track, Teenage Dream – filmed the nearly four minute clip on the islands of Ibiza and Formentera.
Throughout the music video, Perry can be seen dancing and singing along with friends at the tropical location and also at a crowded nightclub.
However, the Balearic Government Government Department of the Environment is now looking into whether the performer and her crew possibly damaged protected dunes on the islet of s’Espalmador, per the Majorca Daily Bulletin.
At one point in the clip, Perry grooved to the track in a seemingly roped off area near the ocean – with the crew and film equipment also nearby.

A preliminary proceeding has officially begun, but it is not clear if the department is investigating a possible violation or whether there could be a penalty.
According to the outlet, the production company involved with the shoot did not acquire or apply for permission to film in the specific area.
The dunes of s’Espalmador are the most preserved ecological area located on the Balearic Islands in Spain.
