Katy Perry’s budding relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is going swimmingly.
The 40-year-old pop star — whose birthday is on Saturday — is ‘really into’ her connection with Trudeau, 53, a source told Us Weekly.
‘Katy is really into it. She’s very happy,’ the insider shared. ‘She’s trying to keep it low-key, and they’ve spent a lot of private time together. She’s not looking to publicize this relationship.’
The insider added: ‘Their friends think they are a good match, but he actually hasn’t met a lot of her friends yet.’
The songstress was initially romantically linked to Trudeau, 53, in July when they were seen on a dinner date in Montreal.
Daily Mail has reached out to a rep for Perry for comment.

It comes after earlier this year she split from longtime fiancé Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares five-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom.
Perry and Bloom confirmed their breakup in July after swirling speculation about their relationship status.
The pair began dating in 2016 and got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019.
The actor is also dad to 14-year-old son Flynn, whom he shares with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
Over the summer, representatives for Perry and Bloom told DailyMail.com that ‘Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.
‘They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.’
And a source told Us Weekly in over the summer, ‘Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,’ while adding that the separation was not ‘contentious.’
The Woman’s World singer was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012.

Earlier this month, DailyMail.com published exclusive photos of the former politician and the entertainer getting very cozy on a yacht.
Multiple sources previously told Us Weekly in September that the unexpected couple were seeing each other.
‘They’ve decided to be much more private about it. They are still speaking and are very interested in each other,’ one person told the outlet.
Another person close to the pair said the relationship ‘isn’t serious’ due to Perry being ‘extremely busy’ on her Lifetimes tour.
‘Justin has made plans to see her when she has downtime in a few weeks when she gets back from her tour in Brazil,’ an insider said. ‘Katy is taking it day by day but is very open to dating.’
