Katy Perry has launched a limited edition doll, days after she was launched into space.
The 40-year-old pop star — who is being criticized for her participation in Monday’s Blue Origin space flight — is hawking the figures for $175.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, she wrote to her 204 million followers: ‘These Perry Playland dolls have been waiting to PLAY and now is their time to rise and shine!’
She also said in the post, ‘Get yours at KatyPerry.com now (only 1000 available!).’
Her latest venture was met with swift backlash from fans, with one writing, ‘I just can’t support how tone deaf this s**t is.’
Others complained about the quality of the doll, quipping it looked like it came from the ‘Dollar Tree.’

Katy also announced that a song on her 2020 album Smile is ‘finally’ available to stream.
Referencing her space odyssey, she wrote, ‘Annnnnnnd… I know I was slightly busy last week but I may have given some justice for “The Smile Tour” while I was [rocketship emoji] so High On Your Supply is finally avail to stream, you’re welcome.’
The doll, designed in Katy’s likeness, comes dressed in a replica of the pink and white striped PVC mini dress she wore during her Play Las Vegas residency.

Perry is on the receiving end of backlash after taking an 11-minute trip into space via Jeff Bezos’ spacecraft.
She was joined in the voyage by Jeff’s fiancée, former journalist Lauren Sánchez, media personality Gayle King, film producer Kerianne Flynn, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, and civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen.
The group has been criticized, with people taking to the internet to deem the launch an unproductive, wasteful publicity stunt that was a ‘joyride for the super-rich.’
It was also called ‘tone deaf’ and ’embarrassing.’
Following the roundabout launch, Perry waxed poetic about feeling ‘super connected to love,’ thanked a reporter who called her an astronaut, and declared the all-female journey ‘has always been about love and belonging.’
‘It’s not about singing my songs. It’s about a collective energy in there. It’s about us. It’s about making space for future women and taking up space and belonging,’ she said in a post-flight interview.
‘And it’s about this wonderful world that we see right out there and appreciating it. This is all for the benefit of Earth.’

Fast food chain Wendy’s joined the conversation, posting photos via social media app X of Perry kissing the ground after landing with the caption, ‘I kissed the ground and I liked it,’ in reference to her 2008 song I Kissed a Girl.
Afterward, music artist Kesha, 38, got it on the drama, posting a snap of herself enjoying a Wendy’s shake and smiling.
Wendy’s also jokingly wrote online about Katy after she returned to Earth from space: ‘Can we send her back?’
Following the backlash, it seems now the Roar singer is experiencing second thoughts about her Blue Origin flight, as an inside source calls the criticism unexpected for the former American Idol judge and ‘disheartening’ for the rest of the all-female crew.
