Katie Price broke her silence on Friday after her former dressage trainer Andrew Gould was called up to the Paris Olympics.
Andrew – who was at the centre of the model’s divorce from singer Peter Andre in 2009 after pictures emerged them on a boozy night out – was called after Charlotte Dujardin was suspended for whipping a horse.
Wading in on the news during an appearance on Jeremy Vine, Katie, 46, praised ‘deserving’ Andrew and said it was ‘brilliant’ he made the team and admitting the footage of Charlotte was ‘shocking.’
Speaking to Jeremy, she began: ‘I’d just like to clarify that I never had an affair with him, obviously we said that at the time. You do spend a lot of time with your trainer but there was no affair going on.
‘I think it’s brilliant that he’s made it in to the Olympic team, brilliant! Especially because he taught me dressage.’

Adding of Charlotte, the model explained: ‘You use the whip as the cracking noise not to hit the horse. I was shocked when I saw that. It’s a animal. You should make the noise but no contact.
‘If that’s how she trains her horses, it’s not good it is.’
‘She is good but it makes you wonder if she does this to all the horses and if that’s the case then she should be stripped of everything. She should be an example of how you do things properly when you train horses.
‘I only found out about Andrew yesterday. I haven’t seen him for years! My best friend does his wife’s hair, but no I haven’t. I moved house and no longer have a horse with him. If I see him, or if he sees this… I wish him luck because he deserves it!’
Charlotte, was sensationally banned from the sport just days before she was due to compete after footage emerged of her thrashing the animal 25 times on its legs.
The six-time Olympic medalist was hoping to become Britain’s most decorated female Olympian – after being tied with cyclist Laura Kenny – but was forced to pull out of the games on Tuesday.
Team GB reservist Becky Moody has taken Dujardin’s place, but her departure has also frees up a space for Andrew – who will travel to Paris in case another rider pulls out of the three-strong lineup.

While they both denied being unfaithful, Katie later revealed that Peter ended their marriage because he believed otherwise.
Gould said after getting his Team GB call-up: ‘Not a post I was expecting to write and under these circumstances but as you may have heard I’ve been called up to be the 4th member of the GB team.
‘It’s an absolute privilege and an honour to be given the trust and responsibility to be a member of the team.
‘I will do everything I can to support the team whilst gaining as much experience of this time as possible.
‘Indigro is feeling the best he’s ever felt and is ready to face whatever comes his way. Now it’s time to come together and support Team GB.’
In 2012, Katie revealed the extent to which her friendship with Gould – who was married to Polly, a PR executive – angered her then husband.
Describing the fateful night out in Bristol that led to Peter breaking up with her, Katie said: ‘I said Pete would go mad if he knew I was out with Andrew because he had a problem with him, but everyone was saying ‘Don’t be silly, you’re a grown woman, he’s here with Polly’.
‘Pete didn’t ask who was there, so I didn’t mention Andrew.’
She then described the moment she was pictured in the papers with a male friend, who happened to be gay, and her fears over how Peter would react when he found out Andrew was also there.

‘I was pictured on the front page with a ‘mystery man’ but the guy was gay and someone Pete had met before. But straight away I felt sick.
‘I wanted to get out of the house and avoid a confrontation with Pete because I knew he’d be angry. On the way to Andrew’s stables I was hyperventilating,’ she said.
Soon after, Peter called her and said it was over.
At the time, Andrew and Polly released a statement about the strength of their relationship and Polly told how Katie had ruined her life.
Polly said: ‘I am not happy about it at all. I am not happy I got involved in her life. I am not happy that it has come to this. Jordan became a client of my husband and mine too as we both run a horse business.
‘He teaches her and I look after her horses and that was supposed to be it.
‘But I am sure there will be other stories to come out and I am cross the focus has shifted onto us like this.’
In her 2010 book, You Only Live Once, Katie told how Peter was jealous of her friendship with Gould.
‘Pete met Andrew and everything changed. He had met Polly and Andrew briefly when they both came round to the house once before we went off to a horse show, and even in that brief meeting, which was filmed for our reality series, I got a bad vibe from Pete, but thought maybe I was imagining it.
‘I admit we were both jealous in our marriage… Jealousy is a poison, a cancer, and once it starts growing out of control, it can destroy everything.’
Katie was married to Peter Andre, 50, from 2005 until 2009 and they share Junior, 18, and daughter Princess, 16
Dujardin with her fiancée Dean Wyatt-Golding after winning the gold medal at Rio 2016
Today Dujardin’s fiancé Dean Wyatt-Golding broke his silence on the scandal, saying it had ‘all come out of the blue’.
Speaking in front of the couple’s home, Mr Wyatt-Golding said: ‘I can’t say anything beyond Charlotte’s statement.
All we can do is wait and see what happens.’
Responding to questions about how the video might have been shared, Mr Golding added: ‘No, we have no idea.
‘Charlotte is obviously cooperating with the equestrian authorities for now.’
