Katie Price says her ‘healthy’ romance with JJ Slater is ‘foreign’ to her after she spent years in ‘abusive’ relationships.
The mother-of-five, 46, told MailOnline she grew so used to being mistreated that she found it hard to recognise when she was with a loving partner.
But her outlook changed after undergoing a domestic abuse course, where she learned how to identify the warning signs and not be triggered by her previous experiences.
The former glamour model, whose ex-husbands include Peter Andre, Alex Reid, and Kieran Hayler, claimed ‘all of my relationships were some kind of domestic abuse’ as she moves on now with the former Married At First Sight UK contestant.
She says quitting alcohol and partying has given her a better foundation and she favours quiet evenings at her new home following her move from the Mucky Mansion over boozy nights on the town.

Katie has been with JJ, who’s 15 years her junior, since February and the couple have discussed having a baby together, with the model telling MailOnline: ‘I will definitely be a mother again’
Speaking exclusively, she said: ‘Things are really, really good with JJ. I have done a domestic abuse course and I learned and realised I have never been in a healthy relationship. When you are constantly in toxic relationships, that’s what you get used to.
‘It was quite a long course, it involved workshops, watching videos, then I realised oh my God, all of my relationships were some kind of domestic abuse. It is very foreign for me to be in a healthy relationship.
‘I have been in situations since where I question is that going to trigger me, is that going to escalate, but JJ is completely different and it is a healthy relationship, which is completely new.
‘My whole life has changed, naturally before I met JJ, I was in a good place to start a new relationship. There are many aspects of my life that I have changed. I am going to start my empire again now I have hit the reset button.’
The podcast host is a mother to Harvey, 22, whose father, ex-footballer Dwight Yorke has been non-existent in his life, as well as Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, from her four-year marriage to Peter between 2005-2009.
She also shares Jett, 10, and Bunny, nine, with Kieran before they split after five years in 2018.
In recent times, she has been engaged to former Love Island contestant Carl Woods, 35, before they ended their romance for good last year.

The former Loose Woman, who in the past 15 years has committed 11 drink-driving offences, admits her life has improved now she stays clear of nightclubs and excessive alcohol use

She even admits to feeling ‘powerful’ without booze and insists she’s never needed a drink to give her confidence on stage.
She explained: ‘I haven’t stopped drinking because I’ve been told I can’t, to me, the partying scene, having therapy and writing my latest book, I have realised there’s more to my life. I have been there, done it.
‘Don’t get me wrong, I’ll have the odd Prosecco but in terms of having a proper night out and getting drunk like back in the day, I had years of it.
‘I would rather dedicate my evening and time to other things now and waking up fresh. I feel so much better.
‘I go out and people drink around me, but I know if I have to work the next day and want to ride my horses, I’d rather have a good night’s sleep.
‘I must sound really boring but I’m not, my life has been bettered in different ways.
‘Where my sister is pregnant and we do our podcast together, I don’t drink before I get on stage, and I do all my performances without alcohol. I feel more powerful without alcohol now. I have a personality… I don’t need Dutch courage.’
Katie sought help after going through a mental breakdown, which saw her turn to alcohol and drug use.
In 2021, while under the influencer of cocaine, she crashed her car and received a 16-week suspended sentence.
She is still banned from driving today and claims she’s yet to get her licence back amid complaints made against her to the DVLA.
The latest change to her life came in May when she was finally evicted from her derelict Mucky Mansion and started a new chapter by moving into a four-bedroom property in Surrey.

She said: ‘I have been in my new house for three months now. I have never been evicted because of bankruptcy, it was other reasons, but I absolutely love my new house and so do all of my kids.
‘I needed to move house. I’ve had nothing but drama and horrible memories of the old house and it was too big.
‘But my house now, it coincided with me doing a reset of my own life, my mental health, it’s a fresh start. I feel like I have been in a washing machine and come out cleaner and with knowledge, I needed this. I spent nine years in a house with nothing but bad memories. I love my home now.
‘People have always got me wrong. I have always been a home girl and a family girl… I choose to do different things now, I go for dinner, go to the cinema, dog walks, play board games, watch TV… I suppose the word is I don’t go clubbing, to be honest I feel so old in clubs now.’
While Katie won’t be spotted in clubs, fans of the TV star can book tickets to see her on stage this October.
Katie takes to Blackpool’s Joe Longthorne Theatre where she will perform in an adult version of Aladdin and warns audiences can expect her to ‘let loose’ and tell ‘filthy jokes’ while she’s on stage.
She plays the magic genie in the lamp and says she’s particularly excited by the project because Aladdin is her most loved Disney film, after she released album A Whole New World alongside ex-husband Peter Andre in 2006.
She said: ‘I’m going to be starring in two pantos this year. The first one is an adult one and I thought oh my God because it’s really hard to find the time to learn the script. It’s every Saturday in October in Blackpool, which is great fun.
‘I love doing adult panto because you can be naughty and it’s fun, more adult humour, which I love. It’s Aladdin and I play the genie in the lamp. I can’t wait to see what the costumes are like and obviously, being in Blackpool, anything goes.
‘I would love to sing, I love being on stage and doing panto is out of my comfort zone, which is why I’m doing it… Learning a script and getting into a character isn’t easy, I haven’t had any training, my life is always a drama but to be in the show and act, is out of my comfort zone.
‘When I’m allowed to be let loose, it all comes out, the filthy banter and taking the p***.’
After she wraps on Aladdin, Katie joins forces with close friend Kerry Katona in Cinderella! as the two play the ugly sisters.
