Gerry Turner was not happy when he heard that Kathy Swarts told Theresa Nist to ‘zip it’ on Thursday’s episode of The Golden Bachelor on ABC.
‘I didn’t come here to fight,’ said Kathy, 70, a retired educational consultant from Austin, Texas. ‘We are all here to get to know you. And when people come in and they are talking about the deep connection they have with you, it feels hurtful to those of us who haven’t had time with you.’
‘I’m beginning to see a rift here that I’m really not happy about,’ said widower Gerry, 72, from Hudson, Indiana.
‘I’m not a villain here,’ Kathy said. ‘We’re all people of a certain age who have hearts and feelings.’
Theresa, 70, a financial services professional from Shrewsbury, New Jersey, earlier had pulled Kathy aside to make sure everything was good between them after she boasted about her connection with Gerry after their one-on-one diner date.
Tense talk: Gerry Turner was not happy when he heard that Kathy Swarts told Theresa Nist to ‘zip it’ on Thursday’s episode of The Golden Bachelor on ABC
Kathy told Theresa she was still angry at her for saying that Gerry came into her room and comforted her.
‘I never meant anything bad or malicious,’ Theresa said. ‘I was really just trying to share how it went.’
‘You ever heard the expression ”don’t kiss and tell?”,’ Kathy said.
‘I made a big mistake, and I’m so sorry,’ Theresa said. ‘Maybe I say too much, but it’s not malicious.’
‘Can I just give you some friendly advice?’ Kathy said. ‘Zip it.’
Gerry said in a confessional that Trista Sutter, 50, who was on the first season of The Bachelor and became the first star of The Bachelorette, made a special appearance on the show and told him to stop looking for the woman he could live with and look for the woman he couldn’t live without.
Trista came into the house and left a group date card for the women to play pickleball. Theresa told Trista in front of everyone details about her one-on-one date with Gerry.
‘Here’s the thing about Theresa, I think she could be the one for Gerry,’ Kathy said in a confessional. ‘But stop telling every detail of your date because there are other people here, including myself, who haven’t had time with him. But she just can’t seem to find the off button.’

Gerry told the group that pickleball was part of his life and was excited to share that with them. The next star of The Bachelor, Joey Graziadei, 28, showed up to give them tips.
‘Just don’t forget these are my girls,’ Gerry said.
‘I gotcha,’ Joey said.
Ellen Goltzer, 71, a retired teacher from Delray Beach, Florida, said she played pickleball several times a week and was a captain of a team. April Kirkwood, 65, a therapist from Port St. Lucie, fell down on the court while running.
‘I think I broke my ankle,’ April said.
Gerry sat down with her and April put her head on his shoulder.
‘Actually, I’m totally fine,’ April said in a confessional. It turned out later, however, that April actually suffered a fracture.
The women then split up into teams of two and Trista said the winning team would be featured InPickleball Magazine with Gerry and would receive a trophy.

Gerry pulled Susan Noles, 66, a wedding officiant from Aston, Pennsylvania, aside and gave her a rose quartz and said the crystal symbolized empathy and strength like her. He said those things also remind him of his past wife. Susan started crying and hugged him and the two kissed.
Kathy looked outside and saw them kissing.
‘I’m not feeling very confident,’ Kathy said. ‘There’s a Rose Ceremony coming up.’
Susan came back and Kathy asked her what was in the box. Susan said it was a rose quartz and that it ‘reminded him of his wife.’
