Disney Plus debuted its new Marvel series Agatha All Along, which featured a first for the Marvel Cinematic Universe: a first female bare backside shot.
Star Kathryn Hahn, 51, returns as Agatha Harkness, reprising her role from 2021’s WandaVision in the new series, set after the events of WandaVision.
The streaming service debuted the first two episodes of the nine-episode season, which featured a brief glimpse at Hahn’s bare behind towards the end of the first episode.
Critics have already showered praise upon the show, with many calling the show’s first four episodes ‘perfect’ and among the best TV shows Marvel has created.
During a new interview with Variety, Hahn admitted the nude scene was entirely the actress’ own idea.

Marvel fans have seen bare male backsides before, with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder, but Hahn’s bare shot marks a female first in the MCU.
The scene happens after Agatha is freed from the powerful spell Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) trapped her in at the end of WandaVision.
When she emerges, she’s not only stripped of all her magical powers… but all her clothes as well, as she leaves her house to chat with neighbor John (David A. Payton) while totally nude… with only her hair covering her breasts.
‘Well, I came up with it. I thought it was good to see her as stripped down, literally, as we possibly could, which spoke into her powerlessness at the present moment,’ Hahn says.
‘She’s been stripped of all of her power at this point in the series. I mean, she really had nothing at that point, and so it became about illustrating that gap between that moment and her finding her power again,’ Hahn explained.
The nude scene was actually not scripted either, with Agatha scripted as grabbing a robe before heading outside… though showrunner Jac Schaeffer revealed that Hahn had another idea.
‘Kathryn was like, “Would she grab the robe? I don’t feel like she would grab the robe. I feel like she would really not care about being naked in front of the neighbors,”‘ Schaeffer said.
‘I told her, “That is the greatest idea I’ve ever heard.” Kathryn has done so much work, and she’s done a lot of nudity and other things, and so it also felt very subversive to get Kathryn Hahn’s nudity into the MCU,’ Schaeffer said.

Schaeffer added, ‘It is so true to her character, and it makes me laugh out loud. And also, I mean, she looks incredible.’
Also returning from WandaVision is Debra Jo Rupp (Mrs. Hart), David Lengel (Jones) and Asif Ali (Norm).
Joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Aubrey Plaza as Rio Vidal, a powerful witch who joins Agatha’s coven.
It remains to be seen how Agatha All Along will tie into future MCU TV shows and movies down the line.
