Katherine Ryan revealed her teenage daughter Violet’s hilarious comment during a funny Instagram clip she shared on Monday.

Taking to her stories, the comedy icon, 40, is seen recording herself in a lace pink bra and grey joggers.

‘Violet said you have nothing to flex about so you can’t share this bra,’ she told candidly containing her laugh.

‘My friend Lemon makes the brand Lemonade Dolls and they make the most comfortable, soft cup,’ she said, tagging @lemonadedolls.

‘It is called soft cup like when there’s no underwire. Bras and amazing panties and sets and everything. It is a matching set but I don’t have underwear on today because that’s how I roll on a Monday off,’ she added bluntly.

‘So I wanted to come on here, I’ve been trying  like wearing all the different sets and my daughter just like: ‘You will not’, so I mean what can I do?,’ Katherine revealed.

‘But I’m wearing it now because our kitchen is like a solarium when it’s sunny which is never it gets so hot when you’re feeding the kids lunch.’

The Canadian star went on promoting a special pal’s programme: ‘But also I’ve wanted to come on because I know this is what she would have wanted – to promote Rosie Jones new show that starts tonight at 9pm on Comedy Central. It’s called Out Of Order. It’s salacious, unpredictable.’

The writer shares Fenna Grace, 14 months and Fred, two, with her husband Bobby Kootstra – while she had her oldest daughter Violet, 14, from her past relationship with ex-boyfriend Alex Edelman.

Katherine has revealed her ‘marriage has taken a backseat’ as she opened up about her relationship with childhood sweetheart Bobby, 40, on Lorraine earlier this month.

The comedian admitted her children come first and she likes to spend as much time as possible with them, which includes co-sleeping.

Speaking on the ITV daytime show, ahead of the release of her new docu-series, Katherine Ryan: Parental Guidance, she said she is still ‘navigating’ parenthood and struggles with mum guilt.

She told Lorraine Kelly: ‘I have a wonderful life because I do exactly what is right for family and I welcome the haters.

‘The series is about doing it your way and my way isn’t the way for every family. I personally co-sleep, I spend so much time with my kids and I’m an attachment parent.

‘I potty-trained them really really young which was controversial, I carry them everywhere. Maybe my marriage takes a back seat because of the co-sleeping.

‘It is a struggle, and I’m so privileged with a stay at home dad and I have resources and a nanny but that doesn’t stop my children from screaming so I’m torn.

‘Like how do I go to work, my job is so fun and it’s not like I’m on the front line saving lives I am greedy my job is fun.’

The docu-series examines the ways Katherine and her partner Bobby differ on their parenting strategies and how they reconcile those differences.

During a preview clip, Bobby said: ‘We have different styles of parenting. Katherine and I now co-sleep with the children separately because the babies kept waking each other up.

‘Honestly two more years of this unless we have more children.’

Katherine added: ‘I wish we could have another one, no one says on their death bed I wish I had less children.’

The TV presenter went on to reveal her marriage was tested during filming the new series as her mother came over from Canada to live with the family.

She continued: ‘My mum came over from Canada and we saw what grandparent helping out is like.

‘I don’t know how great my mother living with us was for my husband but the kids were good with it.’

Katherine and Bobby have been together since 2018 but have known each other since they were children, growing up together in Canada.

Childhood sweethearts, the two parted ways initially before rekindling things this side of the Atlantic.

The pair got a civil partnership in 2019, and went to Denmark for the ceremony, with Katherine previously telling The Jonathan Ross Show: ‘It was a lovely day. It’s perfect having a civil partner.

‘We didn’t have a wedding, I didn’t need to put on a white dress and pretend to be a virgin, that ship has sailed!’

Katherine was born in Ontario, Canada and left home at 18 to study city planning.
