Katherine Heigl and her husband of 16 years, musician Josh Kelley, are getting into the wellness business.
The couple, who live far from the lights of Hollywood in Utah, founded New Lane Mercantile, because they: ‘envision a world where every purchase becomes a meaningful act of compassion and connection.’
The Grey’s Anatomy alum, 44, started the shop as a means of selling her own original art and graphic designs to raise funds for the the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation.
The foundation was started by Heigl – who had a career resurgence with Firefly Lane – and her mother Nancy to ‘make a different in the lives of the abandoned, neglected, and abused companion animals in our country.
But now she’s decided to expand her store’s offerings to include her ‘passion for all things lovely, healing, useful, and inspiring.’

‘New Lane Road Mercantile was born from my desire to make a difference while providing a shopping experience that inspires you to consciously craft moments that matter while simultaneously making a positive impact in the world as you do so.’
Katherine was inspired to start the shop from the mountains in Utah where she lives.
‘Over the last fifteen years, I have had the privilege of calling the Utah mountains my home, and through my experiences living here, I have found a certain peaceful presence I’m determined to share,’ she wrote on the website.
‘The goods curated for New Lane Road Mercantile are meant to do just that by delighting each of your senses and inspiring you to create moments of peace and joy every day.’
The website offers a range of crystals, home goods, fragrances, skin care and knit hats and socks.
Josh’s shop sells an array of leather goods and whiskey sets at reasonable, middle of the road prices.
His shop also offers high end hats that sell for $500 to $600.
