In November 2022, Channel Seven dropped a special ‘Our Effluent Life’ special on celebrating 20 years of the Australian comedy series.

Meanwhile actor Peter Rowsthorn, who played Kim’s husband Brett in the show, said he was not surprised the owners bulldozed the Kath and Kim house.
‘If I bought it, I’d probably tear it down too,’ he told ABC listeners, adding that he thought the house was ‘weird’.
Situated on the banks of the Patterson River, Patterson Lakes is known for its boating and waterfront lifestyle with a series of canals threaded throughout the neighbourhood.
In Kath and Kim, the sought after suburb was fictionalised as ‘Fountain Lakes’. A large fence in the property’s backyard was constructed to hide the water view. (Pictured)
