Kate Winslet headed out for lunch in New York City with Argentinian author Hernan Diaz clutching his novel Trust, which she is set to adapt for a HBO series and star in.
In 2022, it was revealed the actress, 48, would be adapting, and starring in, the Pulitzer Prize finalist’s novel for the American television network.
The pair were spotted hailing a taxi in NYC on Sunday, as Kate carried a hard copy of the novel – which is set on Wall Street during the 1920s and 1930s.
The Titanic star kept it casual for the lunch meet-up, sporting flat brown boots, skinny jeans and a black blazer.
Shielding her eyes from the sun, Kate finished off the ensemble with a spotted black and white scarf and had a brown bum bag strapped to her chest.

In 2022, HBO announced that it was developing the limited series Trust, based on Hernan’s novel, with Kate set to star and executive produce.
Speaking to The Guardian in July, Hernan confirmed Kate was producing the limited series and said he had stepped away from writing duties.
‘We’re closely in touch and she has all these amazing ideas,’ he told the publication.
‘At first I was excited to write it, but I realised I’d be better off as an executive producer after a couple of really big sleepless nights deciding what to do.’
Hernan added: ‘It seemed creatively more honest to write a new book rather than stay a year or two more with Trust. So I’m fully engaged and have a say, but I’m not writing it.’
Trust is a novel consisting of four stories which mainly centre around the world of finance in New York City during the 1920s and 30s.
Kate is set to appear in another HBO adaptation called The Regime, which is released on March 3.
The network released the first image of Kate in its upcoming limited series, which had its name changed from The Palace, in February 2023.

It showed Kate seen in a blue suit with gold embroidery on her lapels as her hair was worn back and she had a stern look on her face with her hands clasped.
In the series, Kate will portray Madam Chancellor, the icy leader of a fictional modern European nation.
The character is seated in a formal government room with flags behind her as well as marble columns and oil paintings.
The Regime is from the producers of Succession’s producers and The Queen’s director, Stephen Frears.
The six-part series, created by writer-producer Will Tracy, depicts a year within the palace of a crumbling authoritarian regime.
Kate’s, foul-mouthed Chancellor battles to control her people and prove herself as a credible leader to foreign allies. It also stars Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton and Hugh Grant.
Kate was seen filming for the series back in May.
Dressed in a navy jacket, wide-legged trousers and black boots, the Reading-born actress chatted on her phone between takes, her hair dyed white-blonde and pinned up in a 1940s style.
She also wore a necklace featuring the letter ‘E’. It is not clear whether this was part of her costume or a tribute to her husband of 11 years, Edward Abel Smith.
The filming site, Overton Mill in Hampshire, is a former banknote paper mill which closed last year.
The star was also seen being driven around in a Rolls-Royce – used as the Chancellor’s ‘official car’, complete with red and blue flags of the fictional state.
Hernan opted for an all-navy outfit, made up of smart trousers and a sweatshirt layered with a coat covered in grey patches. He dressed down the attire with a pair of white trainers
