KATE Lawler has been left horrified after her phone was stolen – and revealed how the “lowlife” thief even tried to trick her family.
The 45-year-old former Big Brother champ took to Instagram to share her ordeal after being robbed.
Kate shared the news of what had happened to with her followers.
On her Instagram Stories she posted: “My phone was stolen yesterday.
Sorry if you’ve tried to contact me. Will be back online soon.”
She also went on to reveal that the thief had then tried to contact her family.
Kate said: “Still phoneless. The thief sent texts to my family attempting to get my phone pin. Lowlife.”
HEALTH BATTLE
Kate has been having a tough time lately, and recently bravely opened up about her battle with the perimenopause.
Last month she admitted she had been “masking” that she’s OK, as she told Dr. Naomi Potter on the Is It Hot in Here? podcast she’s been struggling at home.
“It’s exhausting because having the job that I have, I constantly have to mask, I’m OK,” Kate said.
“At the moment, I just feel like I’m not.
“I feel like I’m a nightmare to live with – I feel sorry for my husband.”
Kate continued to explain that she feels “powerless” and “question everything I do”.
“Like, does anyone like me? Do my friends?” she mused.
“I feel so lost with who I am.”
It was when she looked back at videos from “a couple of years ago” on her Instagram page, and saw “how happy” she was that it “really hit” her.
“And I just thought, you know what?” she continued.
“I just feel like I’ve changed so much and I wish I could just be the person I was.”
Dr. Potter told Kate that she doesn’t “have to feel like this”, but the mother-of-one admitted she’s reluctant to go on HRT – the traditional treatment for perimenopause.
“I wish I just wasn’t so funny about the HRT,” she said.
“Like, I wish I just listened to the menopause doctor.”
Instead, she uses oestrogen-based moisturiser, because she’s “scared” of HRT.
“And that’s the anxiety that I have,” she concluded.
Dr. Potter said in the caption of the video interview on TikTok: “I know that so many of you will relate to Kate’s story of feeling absolutely bewildered and losing yourself in perimenopause.
“But the good news is, we can make things better.”
Kate shot to fame in 2003 when she appeared, and won, the third series of Big Brother.
After this she was immediately snapped up to be a presenter and has enjoyed an incredible career for over two decades on TV and radio.
These days Kate is part of ITV‘s competitions team, and can often be found hosting on This Morning.
