Kate Lawler Enjoys Childfree Ibiza Getaway, Calls It One of Her Best Weekends Despite Spending £1K a Day

Kate Lawler has declared she has had ‘one of the best weekends of my life’ after partying with her husband in Ibiza.

The Big Brother star, 45, jetted to ‘the most magical island in the world’ for a pal’s 50th birthday celebrations, bringing her husband Martin Bojtos along too.

With their daughter Noa, five, at home, Kate admitted that ‘it meant everything to let our hair down and a couple of times I forgot for brief moments on the dance floor that we were Mum and Dad.’

In a video shared on Instagram, Kate and her husband were seen hitting the clubs of Ibiza, enjoying lavish dinners and plenty of pool days with their pals.

Snaps showed the TV and radio star showing off her tanned physique in glittery crop tops and bikinis as she cosied up to her husband who she affectionately refers to as ‘The Handsome’.

‘The Handsome and I flew to Ibiza to celebrate our beautiful friend’s birthday and it was one of the best weekends of my life. I’m back and feeling so grateful I got to do this so soon after the summer holidays. Just us two,’ she gushed.’

‘The last time I danced with my husband in a club was six years ago and I never knew just how much I missed nights out like that until I flew home and reflected on our time together on one of the most magical islands in the world.’

‘It meant everything to let our hair down (metaphorically speaking – soz Boj) and a couple of times I forgot for brief moments on the dance floor that we were Mum and Dad, we had serious responsibilities and we weren’t chatting about life admin, housework, Noa’s school or whether the dogs had taken their supplements etc.’

‘My cup is well and truly full and I’ve come home SO excited to see our babies and get back to school runs, rainy dog walks and work.’

‘Being a parent is hard job and it’s really important to have date days or date nights, weekends away if you can, just time together without the kids to remember who you are and why you fell in love with one another.’

Kate’s Ibiza trip comes after she admitted that she can sometimes splurge £1,000 a day while on her annual family holiday.

Estimating how much she spends on a road trip with her husband, daughter and their two dogs she explained: ‘We tallied it up last night and I reckon, including spending, transport and accommodation, our holidays normally work out at £1,000 a day. But it’s something we’ll always remember.’

The TV personality rose to fame after she won the third series of Big Brother back in 2002, netting her £70k.

However despite being propelled into the dizzy heights of success, the star has revealed it wasn’t all glamour and after the rush of career opportunities she found herself hit with a huge tax bill.

Opening up about her financial woes Kate admitted she received a £80,000 tax bill a few years after appearing on the show, which she was left paying off for about two years.

And despite being much more financially secure now, thanks to the help of her saving-conscious husband, she has confessed she still worries about making ends meet all the time.

‘I worry about making ends meet now, even though I feel like I’m more financially stable than ever before.’

Reflecting on her past debts, she told The Times: ‘I didn’t have any disposable income, and anything I did earn, I was using to pay off my tax and credit cards bills. My money was all tied up in my flat. Now I’m worried that that’s going to happen again. I always worry.’

Following her money struggles, Kate no longer has a credit card and is relying on her property to fund her future.

While she admitted she doesn’t have a pension, the star said she wants one and hopes her husband’s pension will help in their retirement.

After her victory on Big Brother, Kate became a DJ on Capital FM and this role led to her hosting the ill-fated Channel Four breakfast show RI:SE from February to December 2003, when she also left Capital.

Now she makes regular appearances on This Morning and Loose Women and in 2022 her book Maybe Baby: On the Mother Side, was a Sunday Times bestseller.
