Kate Gosselin has given insight into the mystery health crisis which prompted her to undergo a surgery for a ‘life altering’ injury.
The 50-year-old TV personality revealed to fans one day earlier on Monday that she was in the hospital and asked for prayers.
Gosselin later offered an update and explained that she had one of the ‘top 3 most painful’ surgeries but did not give any further details.
But on Tuesday, the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star opened up about what sent her to the hospital in a TikTok Live and told fans that an incident unfolded with her dog named Meika.
‘Meika, my puppy, ran into me full-speed ahead and I ended up with a tibial plateau fracture and surgery with plates and pins in my leg,’ Gosselin expressed while resting in a hospital bed.
A tibial plateau fracture is ‘when there is a break in the shin bone or tibia’ and ‘is a severe injury, especially since the shin bone is critical to the knee’s operation,’ per WebMD.

Gosselin added that the surgeon informed her earlier in the day that it was a ‘life altering event.’
To help her during recovery, the star explained that she has an ice machine called the Polar Care Cube for her knee and will also get to take it home with her.
As she read through fan comments, the media personality noted that she was experiencing pain in her leg.
‘Me leg is really hurting. I’m going to need to say something to them,’ Gosselin said, referencing to the nurses. ‘It’s like unable to be ignored.’
The latest update on her health crisis comes one day after she revealed on Monday that she was hospitalized over a medical issue she initially did not disclose.
She posted an image on TikTok of her hand hooked up to an IV in a hospital bed, asking: ‘Please pray for me tonight and tomorrow. I will be fine, but I’m scared and would appreciate your prayers! Thanks, guys.’
In her caption, she wrote: ‘Emergencies don’t care about schedules,’ iterating that he wanted fans not to ‘worry’ about her but to ‘pray’ instead.
‘I’d really appreciate it! Don’t worry, story time to follow when I’m able! Love you guys! I’ll be back as soon as I can!’ the mother-of-eight shared.

After thanking the commenter, Gosselin wrote: ‘I had to call upon that strength that I know I have deep down tonight! And I appreciate your prayers!’
She later offered an update revealing she had undergone one of the ‘top 3 most painful’ surgeries. The update was included within a selfie she had taken of herself in bed, looking weary, with emotional music in the background.

‘I am not in a position to go into the details now but only bc I can’t focus. I did well. Details coming soon CANNOT thank you enough for all your prayers! Love you guys!’
The star and her ex-husband Jon Gosselin shot to fame in 2007 on the reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, which followed their lives raising twins and sextuplets.
After their divorce in 2009, the show was rebranded Kate Plus 8 and staggered on for a further eight years on TLC before ending in 2017.
Earlier this month, Gosselin – whose twins with Jon are 24 – laid bare the health problems she has suffered ever since her last pregnancy.

She explained that while expecting her sextuplets, her ‘stomach was squished up here, like one inch,’ while her ‘bladder was squished way down here, compressed the whole time with baby weight. Compressed, compressed, compressed,’ via TikTok.
The babies were delivered via cesarean and she then had to use a catheter for a week, since when ‘my bladder has never been right,’ she said. ‘I can’t exactly explain it, or put my finger on it. But it just is very different after that.’
Gosselin’s health scare this week comes after she news broke of her romance with her former bodyguard Steve Neild, 50, a whopping 17 years after they were first linked.
Neild became Gosselin’s bodyguard in 2008 while she was with with her ex-husband, and around that time they were dogged by affair rumors, which they have denied.
However when news of their current relationship went public last week, he publicly hinted that the mom-of-eight cheated on him with Neild during their marriage.
Last week, he shared a link to a recent Page Six story about his ex-wife and Neild dating and wrote: ‘Guess who really ruined the marriage. Read for yourself.’

An insider then alleged that she and Neild have been dating for some time, adding that they live together and are headed for the aisle.
‘There’s no doubt that Kate is crazy about him…things are serious, they have discussed wedding plans and moving on that next stage,’ said the source.
