Kate Gosselin, 50, walks without crutches for first time since her dog caused her to fracture a leg

Kate Gosselin shared a video of herself walking without assistance in public for the first time in almost four months since she badly injured her leg.

The 50-year-old reality TV star shared a post on TikTok on Wednesday and showed herself walking from her car to a coffee shop during a New Zealand getaway.

She said that was the first time she was able to walk without using crutches as she wrote in her caption: ‘And then … she could suddenly WALK again.’

The Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum previously shared how she suffered a ‘life-altering’ leg fracture injury while playing with her dog and had to undergo surgery last September.

In the clip, she appeared to have a slight limp in her left leg as she walked cautiously, but she bore a big smile on her face as she made her way into the local shop.

At the beginning of the video, she layered text over a clip of herself walking into the shop and up to the counter.

She explained that she had been doing physical therapy at home to improve her mobility during the recovery process.

‘I’ve been walking at home more and more and then BAM. I could suddenly walk everywhere!!!’

‘It’s amazing,’ she said to the camera at one point of the clip. ‘It, like, happened overnight.’

After placing her order and enjoying her treats with her travel companions, she started walking out of the cafe.

‘So now I’ll just casually walk out of here,’ she narrated before exiting the shop. ‘I did it.’

At the end of the clip, she wrote in text on the screen that she ‘cannot believe this day has FINALLY come.’

Her last health update was in late December when she shared a video of herself walking on crutches on her way to the doctor’s office.

It had been 82 days since she fractured her leg while she and her boyfriend Steve Neild were playing with her dog in September, she explained in the video.

She explained that her puppy Meika ‘ran into the side of my leg, my knee, at top speed.’

‘The only way I can describe it, it was like a concrete wall running at the speed of light,’ she added. ‘The pain was so bad I just crumbled on the ground.’

In the same video at the end of last year, she said she had to undergo surgery to put ‘plates and pins’ in her leg, and since then, she has been regularly going to physical therapy to get back on her feet.

‘The surgeon said it was life-altering issues,’ she added.
