Kate Garraway revealed David and Victoria Beckham reached out to her after the death of her beloved husband Derek Draper.
The grieving presenter, 56, spoke from her home via videolink just three days after his funeral on Good Morning Britain on Monday.
It is her first TV appearance since she took a break from hosting the show in December due to Derek’s declining health. He passed away aged 56 on January 3 from a cardiac arrest.
Kate, who spent four years caring for Derek after he suffered serious health complications from Covid, said David and Victoria sent her their condolences in a ‘beautiful, handwritten letter’.
Talking about Derek’s funeral on Friday, she said: ‘I had the most beautiful letter handwritten from David and Victoria Beckham, their handwriting was so neat, and also had one from the royal family and Katherine and William sent me a letter.
‘Also the King sent me one and he knows about grief but I just think it is lovely for them to reach out to me.

Elsewhere in the interview, Kate revealed the final words her 17-year-old daughter Darcey told her father.

The presenter, whose husband Derek Draper died on January 3 aged 56, took a break from her presenting role last December after he had a cardiac arrest.
Garraway is said to be ‘keen to keep busy and get back to work’, and is also hoping to return to her show on Smooth Radio. She is provisionally scheduled to return full-time, but ITV have offered her the option to take time off as and when she needs.
The funeral of Draper – which was attended by figures including ex-prime minister Sir Tony Blair, musician Sir Elton John and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer – was held last Friday at the Church Of St Mary The Virgin in Primrose Hill, North West London.
