KATE Ferdinand has returned to the UK for the first time since she and husband Rio moved to Dubai in August.
The couple and their blended family of children; Cree, who is five next week, Shae, two, Lorenz, 19, Tate, 17, and Tia, 14, all moved from South London borough Bromley to the UAE earlier this year.
And returning to the capital this week, Kate admitted she feels “like a tourist”.
The Essex-born and bred star is staying at the 4-star Park Plaza hotel, which has a stunning view of the River Thames.
Taking a video from her hotel room, Kate said: “It just feels really, really good to be back.
“The bintano is shining, I’ve missed it here. I’ve really missed it here so it’s good to be back.”
She wrote over the video: “What’s everyone’s weekend plans? What happens in London at the weekend?
“I feel like a tourist!” she added.
Kate shares children Cree and Shae with her husband Rio, who she wed in 2019, and is a stepmum to his three children; Lorenz, Tate and Tia.
The family’s move to Dubai came almost a decade after Kate and Rio first met there, after being introduced out there by mutual friends.
The pair have lots of ties to the area, with Rio proposing in Abu Dhabi two years later.
In August, Kate revealed in an Instagram post that the family had officially made the move.
She wrote: “A new chapter, a fresh start — because if we don’t try, we’ll never know.
“Ahhh! We’ve talked about this for so long, and now it’s finally real… we’re here. we are making a new home in the place we met!”
Kate added: “Missing some of our specials already & a bit scared, excited & nervous — but more than anything, ready for fresh starts and new beginnings.”
Earlier this year, a source said of the couple’s move: “It holds a special place in their hearts as that’s where they met and both could easily travel back and forth for their work commitments in the UK.
“As well as his sporting success Rio has a huge business portfolio now and there is lots of potential in the Middle East.”
