It was a case of when in Britain, do as the Brits for Kate Beckinsale as she ventured out in an affluent south-west London suburb with her mother on Monday.
The actress was joined by mum Judy Loe while out for lunch in leafy Chiswick, but instead of visiting the areas finer the restaurants the pair opted for a slap-up chicken meal at a local branch of Nandos.
Kate, 51, caught the eye in a floral summer dress and knee-high leather boots as she documented their day out in a series of Instagram posts.
The pair also paid a visit to Marks & Spencer, where they scoured the aisles in search of Skips and Quavers before returning to their car – where a parking ticket was waiting for them.
Captioning the posts, Kate – who spends much of her time in Los Angeles – wrote: ‘Going round Chiswick with my mama makes my solar plexus relax- also we got Quavers and Skips- look out America.’

The actress – who turned 51 on July 26 – has alarmed fans with her recent weight loss after spending weeks in hospital with a stress-related tear in her oesophagus following the death of her stepfather, Roy Battersby.
Mum Judy, a respected TV and film actress in her own right, is also battling stage four cancer.
‘I just think people go through things in their life and we all face difficulties and I’ve been quite transparent about mine,’ she told Daily Mail’s Richard Eden while attending the Summer Gala by Gala One at the Golf Club Saint-Tropez.
‘I’ve just been mainly dealing with my mother and she’s doing OK.’
Kate, the daughter of late Porridge and Rising Damp star Richard Beckinsale, was disappointed by some guests who talked over her as she tried to speak about the charity’s initiatives.
She yelled: ‘Given that none of you are f*****g listening, I could speak to myself.’
Earlier this month, she revealed her weight loss is down to the ‘stress and grief’ of the death of her stepfather and her mother’s cancer diagnosis as she hit back at trolls.

The actress slammed some of her ‘a**hole’ followers, who told her she needed to put on weight in the comments section of an Instagram post.
After sharing a video clip in a crop top and bikini bottoms, one follower queried where her ‘a**’ had gone and encouraged Kate to ‘do some squats’.
Another claimed her body had ‘shrank’ while another insisted that she ‘seemed upset’ in the video posted on Monday evening.
However, Kate fired back at the cruel comments ands explained that there were several reasons for her changed figure, including a six-week hospital stint.
She replied: ‘No, actually, I watched my stepfather die quite shockingly, my mother has stage 4 cancer and I lost a lot of eight from stress and grief…
‘Quite quickly and then I was in hospital for six weeks because the grief had burned a hole in my oesophagus, which made me vomit copious amounts of blood, and I found eating very hard…
‘And I just worked very very hard on a movie that was actually quite triggering because it also involved the theme of the death of my father so I’m not really concerned about what you think about my a**.
‘Maybe you should worry about your own f***ing a**. I suggest shoving something up it, like a large pineapple or a brick.’
Kate’s stepdad Roy Battersby died in January after suffering ‘a massive stroke’ while battling two forms of cancer, which he was diagnosed with the summer before.
Shortly after his death, Kate also revealed that her mother Judy Loe had also been told she has stage four cancer.
In recent months, Kate had been caring for her mother and late stepfather after flying them out from the UK to stay with her in Los Angeles.
‘Kate has been caring for her parents, who both have serious illnesses, for most of the year,’ a source exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com late last year.
