Kat Izzo and John Henry Spurlock announced on Monday that they have ended their engagement.
This comes just three days after fans saw John Henry proposing on their reality TV show followed on Thursday’s season finale of Bachelor In Paradise on ABC.
The exes shared a joint statement on Instagram.
‘With mutual love and respect, Kat and I have recently decided to part ways,’ the sad note began.
‘Our relationship has been filled with wonderful memories and growth, something we looked forward to sharing with you.’
It was added: ‘While our paths are taking different directions due to our career goals not aligning, we are grateful for the love and support we’ve received from our family, friends, and Bachelor Nation.’
The pair ended by saying the decision was not easy: ‘We believe it’s the right step for both of us as individuals. As we navigate this transition, we ask for your continued support and respect for our privacy.’

The 31-year-old underwater welder from Wilmington, North Carolina, dropped to a knee to propose to Kat, 27, a registered nurse from Tampa, Florida, at the end of the three-hour episode.
‘No way. No way,’ Kat said in disbelief as John Henry asked her to marry him.
‘Yes. Yes, of course,’ Kat replied as John Henry put a ring on it.
‘No way. What’s happening. I’m shaking right now,’ Kat said.
‘Me, too,’ John Henry said.
They both declared their love for each other and kissed.
‘No way, we’re engaged,’ they both shouted.
Kat then asked John Henry if he would accept her final rose and he replied, ‘Absolutely.’
They got engaged after an overnight date in the Fantasy Suite and John Henry while proposing said he decided to follow his heart.
‘I’ve always kind of trusted my gut. And I feel like in life, it’s helped me at times. And, you know, right now, like, my gut’s telling me that, like, it’s too soon. You know, like, a lot of what-ifs. Like, is this real? But, you know, right now I’m gonna try something a little different. I’m following my heart today,’ John Henry told her.
John Henry told Kat that he was in love with her before he dropped to a knee and proposed.
Eliza, 27, a marketing manager from Los Angeles, and Aaron, a software salesman from San Diego, also got engaged during the season finale after spending the night in the Fantasy Suite.

They coupled up early during season nine of the spin-off series and were the only consistently strong couple on the beach.
Aaron told Eliza that she was the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen and revealed that he spoke with her mother during his proposal.
Eliza said yes to his marriage proposal and they kissed while celebrating their engagement.
‘You don’t understand. I literally did not know until, like, I was standing right here what I was gonna do,’ Eliza admitted.
Aaron was a bit surprised and Eliza said she was scared until she saw him.
Kylee Russell, 25, a postpartum nurse from Charlotte, North Carolina, desperately wanted to get engaged to Aven Jones, 29, a sales executive from San Diego, but he wasn’t ready for it.
Aven got upset that Kylee was fixated on an engagement, but in the end they agreed to leave the beach together in a relationship.
It was added: ‘While our paths are taking different directions due to our career goals not aligning, we are grateful for the love and support we’ve received from our family, friends, and Bachelor Nation.’ The pair ended by saying the decision was not easy: ‘We believe it’s the right step for both of us as individuals. The episode also featured several tearful moments including when Tanner Courtad, 30, and Jess Girod, 24, broke up and went home.
Jordan Vandergriff, 28, and Mercedes Northup, 25, also split and so did Jordan Vandergriff, 28, and Mercedes Northup, 25.
Peter Cappio, 33, was blindsided when Samantha ‘Sam’ Picoo, 34, told him that it wasn’t going to work out between them.
Michael Barbour, 29, also shocked Olivia Lewis, 24, when he said they were in ‘two very different places’.
‘And just, in terms of leaving in a relationship or going to Fantasy Suites or anything like that, I just don’t think that that’s where we’re at right now. I don’t know. It’s just …it’s tough. It’s a tough conversation to have here,’ Michael said.
Michael then asked Olivia if there was anything she wanted to say.
‘I’m good. I have no hard feelings I don’t. But I don’t want to be sitting here,’ Olivia said as she got up and walked away.
Olivia on the ride away admitted that she was sad.
‘Like, if I was a crier, I would cry right now. But I do know that I’m constantly there for other people. So I’m just wondering, like, will someone be there for me? You know? I hope so,’ she said.
The episode also featured a wedding as Kenny Braasch, 42, and Mari Pepin, 27, after falling in love on season seven of Bachelor In Paradise returned to get married.
Show host Jesse Palmer, 45, officiated the wedding that featured the remaining contestants as guests.

The show concluded with updates including that Jesse was expecting his first child with his wife Emely Fardo.
The update also shared that Kat and John Henry remained engaged and viewers were told that Eliza and Aaron were continuing to work on their relationship.
Kaylee’s patience paid off as viewers were updated that she and Aven were blossoming as a couple.
The season finale concluded with a preview of next season of The Bachelor starring Joey Graziadei, 28, a teaching tennis pro from Koloa, Hawaii.
