Kane Brown has revealed he had a vasectomy after finding out his wife was pregnant with their third child.
The country singer, 30, who shares daughters Kingsley Rose, four and Kodi Jane, two, with his wife Katelyn, announced the couple were expecting a son in December 2023.
Brown said he is ‘scared’ to have three kids and that Katelyn encouraged him to have a vasectomy as they prepared to complete their family.
Speaking on the Bobby Bones podcast, he said: ‘I’m scared for three. I guess it was God’s plan.’
Revealing how Katelyn broke the pregnancy news to him in October 2023 as he headed to play golf at Michael Jordan’s golf course for his birthday, he said: ‘We get on the plane. As I’m taking off I hear Kate say, ‘I think I’m pregnant’ and [the phone] cuts out. So my whole flight down I’m like, ‘Oh my God. What’s going on?’”

‘I was like I hope that she’s wrong. But then we found out it was a boy and I was like, ‘OK it’s God’s plan. We have two girls. We weren’t trying this time.’ ”
Katelyn then told Kane to get a vasectomy, with the star saying: ‘Kate got me neutered already.’
‘She was telling me you gotta go get it. And every time she would say that or tell somebody, dude my stomach, I just get sick. Man, I can’t do it.
‘It didn’t hurt. For me, it was so weird. I mean they gave me [laughing] gas or whatever. I’m laying on my back and have a nurse and a doctor over me … they’re talking about their day and I’m just laying on this table.
‘I’m not out of it at all. I’m just, you know, sky high. They’re just having their conversation about their day and all this stuff and you’re just on the table spread-eagle. It was wild.’
The lovebirds first crossed paths back in 2016 when Katelyn attended one of Kane’s concerts when he was first starting out in the music industry.
The following year, the pair became engaged when Brown popped the big question as they watched the classic horror flick, The Amityville Horror.
Although the country star admitted to People in 2017 that the proposal was ‘weird,’ the singer explained that he, ‘just couldn’t wait.’
He said: ‘I was like I hope that she’s wrong. But then we found out it was a boy and I was like, ‘OK it’s God’s plan. We have two girls. We weren’t trying this time.”‘ (pictured September)
The performer continued by stating that his initial plans were to pop the big question the following day with ‘rose petals and everything like that.’
In October 2018, they said ‘I do’ during a romantic ceremony that took place in Franklin, Tennessee with 200 guests in attendance.
Both Brown and Jae have also collaborated on music together, such as the 2022 track titled, Thank God.
Earlier this year, the couple notably performed the song at the 2023 CMT Music Awards as well as the Stagecoach music festival.
‘My fans have been waiting five years for us to sing together…There [were] actually four [other songs] that we had,’ Kane explained to People not long after Thank God had been released.
‘I was like, “Babe, you’re going to be on this one, or this one or this one.” And then Thank God came in and I was like, ‘This is the one.”‘

‘And she said the same thing, but I’m so glad I waited for this particular one to come out,’ the star added.
During an interview with CBS Mornings last year, Kane also opened up about fatherhood and raising two children.
The One Thing Right hitmaker had been asked if he ever thought about being a father before welcoming his daughters, and he stated that he, ‘always knew that I was gonna try to be there.’
The performer then continued by adding, ‘I just always wanted to give them the life that I never had.’
