The first-ever People’s Choice Country Awards went off at the famed Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.
One of the invitees, Bachelor Nation’s Kaitlyn Bristowe, ended up having to pass on attending the star-studded event after suffering from a panic attack.
Bristowe, 38, shared the news in an Instagram post that seemingly captured her at her lowest point, where the tears were flowing, and highest point, full of smiles, after doing a little self-care.
It comes nearly two months after she and fiancé Jason Tartick announced they were ending their engagement after more than four years of dating.
While Bristowe was a no-show at the event her ex-Tartick was also among the list of invitees who did in fact hit the red carpet

The cover photo taken while riding in a car shows the reality star looking calm but rather despondent.
‘These pics were all taken today,’ she captioned the series of selfies. ‘Today was rough. But I pushed through.’
The second image appears to have captured one of her toughest moments of the day, as she captured tears flowing down her face amid a hard cry.
It’s at this point that she revealed she ‘was supposed to go to the peoples choice country music awards tonight but my body had other plans.’
Bristowe said she had the panic attack — only the fourth in her life — and decided to instead do ‘a light work out to move my body, a relaxing facial, hair appointment, and now I just need rest.’
She captured her work out and facial appointment with a the last two photos, which showed her looking much more happier and smiling for the camera.
The Leduc, Alberta, Canada native ended the post by urging her 1.9 million fans and followers to ‘Listen to your body. emotions are wild man.’
Tartick, 34, would in fact make his arrival at the event and first make his way to the red carpet for a round of photos solo.

The Buffalo, New York native showed off a more stylish side to his fashion sense in fitted black pants and a dark blue velvet blazer over a black-patterned shirt.
He also wore a pair of black leather boots, and had his dark hair styled short, over the ears, with a slight part off to the right.
In an interview with E! News, he had nothing but compliments for Bristowe, sharing that they are both fine following the split.
‘Both Kaitlyn and I are working through it day by day,’ he shared on the red carpet. ‘She’s an awesome person. I will always have a special place in my heart for her.’
The former couple announced their breakup in a joint statement on Instagram on August 6.

‘After sharing the news with family and close friends first, and taking the time to properly process it ourselves, we are saddened with heavy hearts to share that we have decided to end our engagement,’ they wrote.
‘Continuing our friendship is incredibly important to both of us,’ they continued after revealing their two dogs will not be split apart. ‘We feel grateful to be ending our engagement with love and respect for each other. It’s heartbreaking and sad to say goodbye, but our care and admiration for one another will never die.’
They ended the statement by thanking everyone for their support over the years, and asking that people, moving forward, ‘hold space for us in your hearts.’
Bristowe and Tartick had been sharing a home together in Nashville, Tennessee, with their two golden retrievers.
