Ed Sheeran says he doesn’t want his kids to grow up in the ‘Richie Rich house’ after his wife stopped him from building a bowling alley in his back garden

He’s worth £300 million, has a pub on his Suffolk estate and multiple multi-million properties around the world.

But Ed Sheeran has said he doesn’t want his kids to grow up in the ‘Richie Rich house’ and that his wife stops him from splashing out on extravagant purchases.

The singer, 34, who was sleeping rough twenty years ago and trying to make it big in the music business is now worth hundreds of millions of pounds and has just released a new single with an album set to be release imminently.

Speaking Tuesday’s episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Ed gave an insight into his personal life with his childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn.

The couple, who have been married since 2019, share daughters Lyra, four, and Jupiter, two, and grew up together in the same town in Suffolk.

‘Cherry is the biggest grounding force,’ he said.

He explained: ‘Anytime there is something a little bit too Hollywood, she’ll be like, “bro, cmon”.

‘Especially because I grew up with her, there’s always just a lens of Suffolk over it. I wanted to build a bowling alley in our back garden, but Cherry said no.

‘She knew we didn’t need that. She doesn’t want our kids growing up in the Richie Rich house where there’s literally McDonald’s in our back garden.’

Ed, who already has a pub, cinema and recording room in his back garden, which is connected to his house via tunnels, was referring to the 1995 film Richie Rich, where Macaulay Culkin plays the son of a billionaire businessman.

Speaking on why he built a pub in the garden of his £3.7million estate in Suffolk, he said: ‘I built a pub in my garden because there used to be this pub I would go to, where I’d go to blow off steam.

‘And it got to that point where people knew I went there, so I couldn’t go as much and get as drunk as I’d like.

‘And there an old barn on my land, so I bought the counter and the pub off of eBay, and all of the plumbing and wiring in.

‘There’s now a tunnel to it from the house and in there I have also built a listening room and a cinema. And that’s my man catacombs.’

The singer also revealed his is now sober because of his busy work schedule and that he used to ‘drink every day’ and recalled his most embarrassing moment.

‘There was this one moment where I had got drunk and whilst sleeping naked, I went to go for a pee and ended up locking myself out of the hotel room,’ he said.

‘I had to go and get a napkin from someone’s room service and go downstairs to reception and ask them to let me back into my room at 4am.

‘I asked my security guard to wipe all of the CCTV footage and I now sleep in pyjamas whenever I’m on the road.

‘I’m sober at the moment so that’s helping with not doing stupid sh**.

‘I saw the schedule for this year with the album release and I am flying all around the world and then flying home and being a dad as well.

‘And I don’t want to add on an extra layer of tiredness as well. So I am not drinking and I am going to focused and energised.

‘I won’t be sober forever, but I’ve definitely changed my relationship with alcohol. i used to drink every single day. Not spirits, but a glass of wine at the end of the day.

‘Me and my wife do date night once a week every week, and that will be the time where I do start drinking and enjoy a bottle of wine together rather than having to have something every night.’

Kyle Sandilands reveals the jaw-dropping amount he made from investing in Donald Trump coins in a single night

Kyle Sandilands has revealed how he made a jaw-dropping $700,000 in a single night.

The radio host, 53, has claimed to have invested in Donald Trump’s cryptocurrency $Trump, which is being promoting just days ahead of the presidential inauguration.

The Solana-based meme coin – which are cryptocurrency named after a supposedly humorous individual – is currently being promoted on Trump’s social media.

Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Kyle claimed to have made a huge profit after investing in the meme coin, which experts say are incredibly risky investments.

Kyle said he pumped $10,000 into $Trump coin over the weekend and has already made $700,000.

‘On Saturday night, sitting around with a couple of lads at my joint, let’s say 2 or 3 in the morning, Trump launched his Trump Coin,’ he said.

Kyle Sandilands has revealed how he made a jaw-dropping $700,000 in a single night after investing in Donald Trump’s new cryptocurrency $Trump

‘I jumped in with $10,000 and I’ve made $700,000 by the time I woke up.’

When asked whether he has sold his profits, Kyle insisted he hasn’t and still has his investment in $Trump.

Since the launch of $Trump, some experts questioned whether hackers were behind the new venture and others have criticised meme coins as a very risky investment.

Posts on Trump’s X, formerly known as Twitter, and Truth Social accounts announced the arrival of the $Trump, a Solana-based meme coin, on Friday night.

Meme coins are cryptocurrency named after a supposedly humorous character, individuals, artwork or trends.

Examples include Dogecoin (DOGE), which was set up as a satirical payment system to make fun of cryptocurrencies, and features a cartoon version of a cute Japanese Shiba dog called Kabosu that internet users found funny and cute.

Experts say meme coins are incredibly risky investments, but they can prove lucrative, especially for the creators. The market cap for meme coins generally stands in the billions.

Following the launch of $Trump, the token has exploded to $13billion in value, while trading volumes are approaching $13.6billion at the time of writing, according to GeckoTerminal data.

At the time of publication, the token was trading at $69.46.

The announcement first appeared on Trump’s Truth Social account, directing his followers to acquire the token through the GetTrumpMemes website.

A similar post arrived on his X account shortly afterwards.

The post, which features an image of the token showing Trump’s right fist in the air with the slogan, Fight, Fight, Fight, stated: ‘My new Official Trump Meme is here! It’s time to celebrate everything we stand for: winning!

‘Join my very special Trump Community. Get your $Trump now. Go to — Have Fun!’

According to the GetTrumpMemes website, the fungible token is ‘an official Trump product’ and can be purchased via Moonshot or more traditional payment methods.

It features an image of the President-elect in the moments after an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024.

The site revealed the tokens are minted through crypto platform Solana and over three years, a total of one billion $Trump will become available.

The post appearing on Trump’s X account has garnered tens of thousands of comments among his 97.6million followers, with some questioning if the incoming President had been hacked.

One wrote, ‘This must be a scam. Please don’t be real’, while another simply asked: ‘Account hacked?’

Others however were welcoming of the idea that $Trump could be a good investment move.

One follower said: ‘Put all your life savings into $TRUMP on Solana, and you can end up just like him!’

Experts have also begun wading into the debate on whether the project is real or the result of hackers gaining access to Trump’s social media accounts.

Crypto aficionado Slorg from the Jupiter crypto exchange, said $TRUMP has been verified, Crypto Briefing reports.

‘I don’t like to tweet about coins, and in no way shape or form is this a promotion. But to keep people safe, this is the real Trump coin. We have approved it to the Jupiter strictlist.’

Meanwhile, Polymarket, used by crypto traders to predict outcomes and track current trends, is showing just a 3 per cent chance that Trump’s accounts have been hacked.

Meme coins have been growing in popularity in recent years. Aside from Dogecoin, other examples include tokens based on cartoon frog Pepe (PEPE), Peanut the Squirrel (PNUT), an orphaned squirrel euthanized by New York officials, and MOO DENG, which is based on a pygmy hippo from Thailand that went viral because of her cheeky energy.

James Ramsden KC, a leading voice on crypto and digital asset litigation and a founding partner at law firm Astraea, called meme coins a ‘dangerous illusion’ and a ‘complete con’.

He recently told MailOnline: ‘I wouldn’t go anywhere near them. It’s an illusion that’s quite dangerous.

‘It’s just a very speculative financial punt which is almost completely at the mercy of the people who have put it out there.

‘I think this is a complete con. It has no value or purpose. I’m as worried of those as any digital asset.

‘I don’t think you can call them that at all. It depends on algorithmic social media interaction. It’s a very flimsy way of approaching value to anything.

‘It’s not the meme coins that attract people to a site, it’s what is funny, what is interesting, meme coins just measure the number of hits [a site or idea] gets.’

Anyone can create a meme coin and unlike more traditional cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, they cannot be mined. Instead, a finite number are released with the owner keeping a certain amount.

If they surge in popularity by going viral, then the owner can sell their meme coins, generating income for themselves – although this in turn could wipe out the value for investors.

    What are Bitcoins?

    What are Bitcoins?

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency (also known as crypto) – an online type of money which is created using computer code.

It was invented in 2009 by someone calling themselves Satoshi Nakamoto – a mysterious computer coder who has never been found or identified themselves.

Bitcoins are created without using middlemen – which means no banks take a fee when they are exchanged.

They are stored in what are called virtual wallets known as blockchains which keep track of your money.

One of the selling points is that it can be used to buy things anonymously.

However, this has left the currency open to criticism and calls for tighter regulation as terrorists and criminals have used to it traffic drugs and guns.

    How are they created?

Bitcoins are created through a process known as ‘mining’ which involves computers solving difficult maths problems with a 64-digit solution.

Every time a new maths problem is solved a fresh Bitcoin is produced.

Some people create powerful computers for the sole purpose of creating Bitcoins.

But the number which can be produced is limited – meaning the currency should maintain a certain level of value.

    Why are they popular?

Some people value Bitcoin because it is a form of currency which cuts out banking middlemen and the Government – a form of peer to peer currency exchange.

And all transactions are recorded publicly so it is very hard to counterfeit.

    Does the price fluctuate?

Yes. Bitcoin is one of the most popular cryptocurrencies but is so volatile that it could be worth vastly more or less depending on the day.

    How do you own cryptocurrency?

To own cryptocurrency you will buy it or trade it on an exchange – a website for trading and storing crypto.

Owners must hold it in a ‘wallet’, which is similar to a bank account.

This wallet can either be stored digitally with the exchange or downloaded as a ‘cold wallet’ onto a USB, which some believe is the safest way of holding it.

To liquidate crypto, it can be sold back on exchanges to other people wanting to buy it, just like any other traditional currency or stock.

Discussing her new family portraits, which she teased on her holiday cards, she revealed that she never previously thought she would have two daughters to dress in matching outfits.

‘I think it really captured where we are in life, which is just pure chaos,’ she admits.

‘So it was a little chaotic, but I was just really excited. It’s funny, I didn’t think I would be that mom that would put the girls in matching clothes, and I was 100% excited to buy these two outfits that matched.’

The doting mother said, ‘It was really adorable, and Juju thought it was so awesome as well.’

The Suite Life star also shared that the photoshoot took place at a beach in Malibu — a city that is ‘such special place’ to her and husband Christopher French, 42.

She recalled: ‘It’s just so calming, and especially in these moments where we’re just trying to balance it all, it’s always so nice to just kind of go out there. It has to be here.’

Tisdale, who shares Jupiter, three, and her two-month-old with French, claimed that the location made it difficult for her ‘three-nager’ to stay calm.

‘Jupiter is at that age where she is like, we call it a “threenager.” She is a full teenager and she’s 3, and she’s just sassy,’ she told the outlet.

‘She’s a really good kid, but she obviously has her moments. There’s times where Jupiter is just like, “No pictures. Don’t take any pictures of me.” So I’m like, “Oh God, I hope we don’t get that side of Juju today.”‘

The Saving Santa voice actress said Jupiter ‘did really, really good,’ but ‘at one point she was just starting to be like, I don’t really want to do this anymore.’

She added: ‘So Chris put her on his shoulders, and I think this picture really captures where we are. Where it’s just kind of going with the flow and giving into the chaos.’

The former Disney star also revealed that little Emerson is ‘literally a copy of Juju.’

Recalling the moment Jupiter met her little sister she said: ‘I think she was more ready than we imagined — I was nervous.’

‘She really is such a good big sister. She just sits there and wants to hold her baby sister and wants to do tummy time with her, and she’s just so loving,’ Tisdale rhapsodized.

‘It was almost like she knew she was meant to be a big sister. It was so cute.’

Katy Perry Addresses Claims of Name Theft Ahead of AFL Grand Final Show

Katy Perry has addressed claims she stole her daughter’s name from a notable Australian celebrity.

The American pop star, 39, is currently Down Under ahead of her hotly-anticipated AFL Grand Final performance at the MCG on Saturday.

She spoke to radio hosts Brendan Fevola and Nick Cody about the gig and they also quizzed her on claims she took her daughter Daisy’s name from their friend.

They recalled how Katy met their co-host Fifi Box and her then-baby daughter Daisy Belle, now five, when she last appeared on their show, The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick.

The duo asked Katy if meeting Fifi’s daughter inspired her own child’s name – Daisy Dove Bloom – as they recalled how much she had ‘loved the name’ at the time.

The Roar hitmaker shared her surprise but confessed that it might have ‘subliminally’ been why she decided to call her own daughter Daisy, four, around a year later.

‘Is that where it came from subliminally?’ Katy said while speaking to Brendan and Nick on their radio show on Thursday.

‘I also love Disney and Daisy Duck, so it might be a combination of the Daisy from Australia and Daisy Duck.’

Katy, who shares Daisy with actor Orlando Bloom, also revealed she also had another unique name picked out for her daughter, but ultimately decided against it.

‘I had another name for her Jupiter, but that’s not the right name for her, she’s definitely not a Jupiter,’ she shared.

‘She’s a Daisy through and through, and having the last name Bloom is beautiful.’

The Dark Horse singer is set to take to the stage in front of a crowd of 100,000 AFL fans on Saturday when the Sydney Swans face off against the Brisbane Lions.

She is reportedly being paid a staggering $5million for her short pre-game performance, which will see her perform just five songs.

It was claimed that Katy and the AFL have butted heads over her setlist, with her team said to have pushed back against a request she refrain from playing new songs.

Appearing on SEN Breakfast on Monday, veteran AFL journalist Tom Morris claimed they have reached a compromise with Katy agreeing to just one new track.

‘She’s playing about five songs and the AFL was very keen for her to play five classic tunes, she wanted to play two new ones,’ he said.

‘In the end they met halfway and she’s playing one new song and four classics.’

Co-host and AFL great Kane Cornes, revealing he is a Katy Perry fan, added that the AFL should have a say in the planning of the blockbuster stadium show.

‘The AFL are saying: “We only want your hits. We only want your bangers. We only want your best stuff”‘ he said.

‘We want Roar, We want Teenage Dream, we want Firework. They want all the songs we know and love. And she’s pushed back and said, “No, no I want to play two of my new songs.”

‘You know when you go to a concert and maybe they’re old and all you want is their good stuff. You just want their greatest hits.

‘That’s what the AFL have requested with Katy Perry. And she’s gone: “clearly, I want to promote some of my new music.”’

The High School Musical alum also painted the walls a dark color to imitate the night sky and for a bit of contrast against a circular piece of artwork depicting planet Jupiter.

She kept her daughter’s same llama-style rocking horse and exchanged all the other furniture and toys for a boho-chic dresser.

She also elevated Jupiter’s room by changing out a white rug for a soft, taupe-colored shaggy rug.

Tisdale also added more pieces of artwork in her room as she hung up framed photographs of their special moments, their loved ones and an adorable snapshot of their dog.

She had on a long white dress as she and her spouse touched heads for the snapshot.

Tisdale, who was also on Carol’s Second Act and the Netflix series Merry Happy Whatever, told People in 2019 that she wanted to wait until the right time to start a family.

‘For me, it’s like, it’s okay to not want to start a family right away,’ the actress told the site.

‘People are always asking me about that, but it’s just not the right time.’

Tisdale also told the site that she and French have a strong bond.

‘He’s a really great guy,’ she said.

‘We’re lucky because we’re very independent people, but we love spending time and hanging out together.

‘Being in quarantine together, it’s still that easy. It’s still hanging out with your best friend,’ she added.

Clare famously catered for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding and is widely regarded as one of the best female chefs in the world.

It comes after Ed’s wife Cherry Seaborn has reportedly revealed a new career move.

The spouse of the hit singer is launching her own business according to new reports.

The Sun claims that Cherry has registered the retail brand Babes In Armour with Companies House with documents suggesting it could sell products including toiletries, lingerie and maternity wear.

Ed and Cherry married in 2019 and are parents to daughters Jupiter, 17 months, and Lyra, two.

A source told the publication: ‘Cherry has a career of her own and isn’t interested in Ed’s fame. Ed loves that she has her own passions.

‘Babes In Armour was an idea she had with a friend, costume designer Jemima Penny and there are lots of possibilities.

‘They have registered the name and are working out the finer details of what their new business will be. It’s very exciting.’

A representative for Ed has been contacted by MailOnline for comment.

Ed and Cherry have always kept their relationship low-key but Ed, 32, sparked concerns when he hinted at marital issues in his latest album.

Autumn Variations, which was released in September, appeared to suggest their relationship was on the rocks at one point, with one song hinting that Cherry ‘may have called time on their relationship’.

Ed’s song Punchline focused on an imploding romance, with lyrics reading: ‘I can’t help but be destructive right now. It’s been weeks since I saw your outline.

‘In my room is a silence so loud. This is what losing hope might sound like.’

During the emotional chorus, it continued: ‘I can’t help it but I love you so. I can’t take this letting go. I still feel like we could work it out or something.

‘All I am is only flesh and bone. Why’s your heart so freezing cold?’

Ed and Cherry have been together since 2015.

In another track, Ed detailed their ‘bumpy road’, and stressed in the song that it is ‘not the end of our lives’.

He sings: ‘This is not the end of our lives, this is just a bump in the ride. I know that it’ll be alright.’

In the song The Day I Was Born, he sings: ‘I broke apart from my lover a couple months ago, if they were here then I guess I wouldn’t be alone.’

However, the album is unclear which songs have been written from Ed’s personal experiences as he has previously spoken about the album being about both his and his friend’s lives.

Ed and Cherry first met at the age of 11 while attending Thomas Mills High School in rural Suffolk.

Cherry, in the year below him, stood out for her natural ability at hockey and Ed for his obvious musical talent.

While the pair parted ways after high school they reconnected in New York City in 2015 and started dating shortly after.

The key to their relationship’s success seems to be their humble Suffolk roots.

Cherry grew up in a charming period property in a village outside Framlingham with her mother Ann, father Matthew, an architect, and younger brother Charlie, who is in the same business as his brother-in-law-to-be, writing film and theatre music.

Meanwhile, Ed lived with mum and dad, Imogen and John, and brother Matthew, in Framlingham, but dropped out of school at 16 to seek his fortune as a singer. At the outset he busked and slept rough under an arch near Buckingham Palace.

Two years after they started dating, Ed proposed to Cherry in 2017 .

He broke the happy news to his then 19 million followers on Instagram with a sweet, again low-key photo of them embracing.

He wrote: ‘Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats (Dorito and Calippo) are chuffed as well.’

The following year the couple tied the knot in a low-key ceremony a few days before Christmas .

A source said: It was very quiet – just Ed’s oldest school pals, limited family and the priest.

‘There were only 40 people – so no Taylor Swift, record company executives or any royals or pop star pals. He wanted no fuss and he wanted it to be something entirely for them – just a tiny winter wedding.

‘Neither of them were that fussed about making a big deal about it. Cherry just wanted to get it out of the way without any problems or intrusions.’
