Julia Fox sparks confusion by coming out as pansexual, saying ‘men don’t do it for me’

Kanye West’s actress ex Julia Fox has come out as pansexual a year after seemingly confirming she was a lesbian.

The Uncut Gems star, 35, who shares a son with ex-husband Peter Artemiev, said ‘men don’t do it for me physically’ as she revealed she is attracted to a person regardless of sexual or gender identity.

She told Allure Magazine: ‘I’m pansexual; I could be attracted to anyone and anything.

‘If it were just down to the physical, I’m more attracted to the female body.

‘Men don’t do it for me at all [physically], but I can be attracted to a man’s mind. I’m a vibes person.’

Fox added that she doesn’t miss being with men ‘at all’, saying: ‘The way my life is, I can’t see why a man would be beneficial.

‘I’m laser-focused on being a good mom, on being a good provider, on making my dreams come true.

‘There’s just so much more you can do with your time than waiting around to see if a guy’s going to text you back or not.

Opening up about discovering her sexuality, she said: ‘I think women have a harder time [realizing they’re queer] because we are so programmed to perform for men.’

She added she had been drawn to female ‘psycho codependent besties’. 

Fox said: ‘Looking back, I’m like, Oh my God, we were in a relationship.

‘But there was no way I was going to admit that to myself, and I couldn’t because so much of my survival was hinged upon men taking care of me.’

Fans were left baffled by her admission, with one writing on social media: “Men don’t do it for me at all physically but I am pansexual”, um…. well that’s not pansexual. Also I could be attracted to anyone or anything? Does she thinks she gets a medal for being attracted to trans and non-binary people in a somewhat dehumanizing way or something?

‘Pansexuality isn’t just bisexuality with a strong preference for women.’

Another typed: ‘She is not a lesbian. She is bisexual and apparently an attention seeker. ‘

A third wrote: ‘Anything for attention. ‘

Another typed: ‘Julia fox came out as “lesbian” last year after dating men her whole life. now she switched to “pansexual” and said she is attracted to men’s mind. Wtf is men’s mind?’

Others praised the star for her candid admission, writing: ‘Julia Fox says she’s pansexual, vibes over labels!’

‘Vibes is a good way to define one’s sexuality, tbh. Better than bi or pansexual.’

In July 2024 Fox surprised fans when she appeared to reveal she was a lesbian.

She stitched a video from TikTok user @emgwaciedawgie who says, ‘I love when I see a lesbian with their boyfriend. It’s like “Aww, you hate that man. You literally hate him.”‘

In her response the star — who recently discussed being celibate — states, ‘Hey, that was me. I was that lesbian. So sorry, boys. Won’t happen again.’ 

The original poster wrote in the comments: ‘did i just facilitate julia fox coming out… ily queen.’ 

This isn’t the first time the mother-of-one discussed her sexuality. 

In 2022 she revealed she was considering exploring her ‘gay bone’ and wanted to start dating women during an appearance on Ziwe. 

‘Like, maybe my ex-boyfriends weren’t wrong when they were calling me a lesbian and complaining that I never wanted to have sex with them,’ the Italian-born model stated. 

The star then noted: ‘[You] can find love in all places and all races. All [men are] equally horrible to be honest — all men. It’s just a man thing.’

And earlier in 2024 she revealed she was celibate for over two and a half years, after previously sharing that she and the rapper were not intimate during their short-lived relationship.

‘I just think nothing good comes from having sex, including children. No, I’m just kidding,’ the actress quipped during a Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in May.  

She told The Times newspaper that year: ‘I’d definitely be up for a relationship with a woman. You cannot equate that to a relationship with a man.

‘With a woman you’re with your bestie, whereas ultimately men are always going to prioritise other men over you.

‘Men love other men and masculine s***, and watching homoerotic things such as wrestling and football. In this toxic culture I don’t think there’s room for them to love me.’
