Joy was not shy about sharing the scars on her torso in a nude post on social media as she spoke about the changes she’s made to improve her health and boost her career.
‘I started working with a wonderful therapist, quit alcohol and weed, and moved to LA where I found my own apartment,’ she told her fans.

Joy was apparently experiencing symptoms of Breast Implant Illness, which led to her decision to have them removed earlier this year.
Big decision: ‘I’m so beyond grateful for the unbelievable support from everyone so far! Here is a video of my surgery with David Rankin and his explant liaison Dee Hicks and the whole incredible team,’ the 35-year-old wrote alongside the video
‘I’ve found joy in painting, acting, creating, and pursuing my dreams. I’m healthier and happier than ever before, all thanks to me. P.S. I’m still evolving, learning to love myself more each day.’
JoyCorrigan previously said that she was prepared to be open about her decision in an effort to spread awareness about ‘breast implant illness’ and to shed light on the truth of life with implants.
Similarly, last year former race car driver Danica Patrick also documented her breast implant removal, seven years after suffering health issues including hair loss, weight gain and dizziness.
In her recent video, Corrigan thanked the team behind her explant surgery as she showed the various stages of recovery.
‘I was terrified to go into surgery, but as soon as it was done there was a huge sense of relief and freedom, I instantly knew that I made the right choice and I was so glad I trusted my intuition,’ she explained.
Symptoms of BII may include fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, dry eyes and many other health concerns. Removal of the implants often results in immediate relief.
Fans took to the comments to praise her for sharing her journey and being honest.
Surgery time: ‘The surgery went smooth, everything went great. I was super loopy after and could barely walk, but the whole team took such great care of me,’ she said
One fan wrote: ‘You are an amazing advocate for #bii; you’ve been through so much and have shared your vulnerabilities and triumphs after explanting. Dr. Rankin has given you back your health. And you are glowing from the inside out.’
The doctor who performed her extant surgery chimed in: ‘Thank you Joy Corrigan for being a HUGE and much needed voice for BII. I am so proud of you and completely honored to have been a part of your journey to a healthy you!’
In a clip from an interview with Australia’s Today Extra this week shared on her Instagram account, the model said she hoped her decision will help other women.
‘We go through surgery to get this body that we think people will love and accept us when the real core is we want to be healthy and when we’re healthy, we can love ourselves, so I think that’s the message here.’
