Ben Shephard could be forgiven for feeling left out on Thursday after Josie Gibson appeared to overlook him while distributing presents to her This Morning co-hosts.
Gibson, 39, came bearing gifts after returning to the show’s London studio following a trip to Germany, where she watched England reach the Euro 2024 final by beating the Netherlands 2-1 in Dortmund.
The bubbly presenter was still exhilarated by the game, won with a goal from Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins in its dying seconds, as she reunited with Shephard and Cat Deeley during Thursday’s live show.
Having purchased some gifts during her whirlwind trip to the German city, the presenter appeared keen to distribute them among the team – only to come up short while handing Shephard his – a bottle of German beer, a small trinket and a box of chocolates that had clearly been opened.
Instantly noticing the box was half empty, he asked: ‘Have you nibbled my chocolates?’

Admitting she’d helped herself before catching a flight back to England, Gibson explained: ‘What happened was I’m a midnight fridge attacker, fridge snacker and I’ve ate half of yours. Sorry about that.
‘But I’ve got you to make up for it…. but it did melt because it was really hot in Dortmund…. so I’ve got you a little poodle-doodle and some half eaten chocolates.’
Turning to Deeley, she added insult to injury by passing her an unopened gift, adding: ‘Don’t worry Cat, I didn’t eat yours.’
Gibson could not hide her delight on Wednesday afternoon as she posed with a group of England fans in Dortmund ahead of England’s semi-final match with the Netherlands.
The presenter wore an England shirt and blue jeans as she cheered with the fans in Friedensplatz, one of two designated fan zones in Dortmund for those who could not get tickets to the match.
‘It’s coming home,’ she told viewers ahead of the match. ‘I cannot even describe to you how electric the atmosphere is here.
‘I am definitely going to get into this football. It’s absolutely magic and this football top, means absolutely everything.’
Gibson had previously left Shephard speechless after she made a sexual innuendo on the show.

On Monday’s instalment, the presenter greeted Shephard from a canal boat in Bruges during an interrailing adventure across Europe.
However, she left him stunned for words as she made a cheeky sexual innuendo while talking about her lack of interest in cruise ships.
Shephard asked how her time went on a cruise to which she cheekily responded: ‘Well Ben Shephard we all know that ripe old saying, it’s not the size that matters it’s the motion in the ocean.’
He could be heard giggling away before Gibson added: ‘There’s too much motion in that ocean for me on that cruise ship, so I’ve taken to a lovely quaint little canal boat in Bruges.’
