Josie Gibson’s popularity took a nosedive on Tuesday evening after ITV viewers slammed the presenter for mocking Fred Sirieix on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Sirieix was named as the third celebrity to be voted off the show after a testy two and half weeks in camp, during which he repeatedly clashed with fellow contestants over camp cleanliness and cooking duties.
But the fastidious Frenchman’s direct approach was derided by Gibson, 38, who repeatedly irked Sirieix, 51, with her questionable culinary endeavors – among them a calamitous attempt at making bean fritters.
Discussing what would prove to be his final Bushtucker Trial – during which he picked up seven out of a possible nine meals for camp – former EastEnders actress Danielle Harold said: ‘He’s p***ed off because he didn’t get full stars.’
The comment prompted a sarcastic response from the This Morning host, who mimicked a child crying as she relaxed in her hammock.
Josie Gibson ‘s popularity took a nosedive on Tuesday evening after ITV viewers slammed the presenter for mocking Fred Sirieix on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Mimicking the First Dates star’s persistent fussing over their meals, she said: ‘I’m not the camp chef! I must do the pots! Cry cry!’
The imitation went down well with Harold, who burst into fits of laughter as Gibson persevered with the imitation before admitting: ‘God I’ve turned really immature now. I think he’s been hanging around with Gordon Ramsay too much though.’
However the incident sparked a negative response across social media, with one viewer commenting: ‘Oh no Josie don’t stoop to Danielle’s level.’
A second added: “Bruh I can’t route for Danielle and Josie when they’re making fun of Fred like that. Like grow up, you can dislike someone without acting like a bully about it.’
‘It’s crazy how Josie can cook with that massive chip on her shoulder,’ a third added.
Elsewhere a fourth wrote: ‘Hmmmmm, not liking that side of Josie I have to say.’
Sirieix was sent home after losing out to Harold in the public vote when they both came in the bottom two in the latest elimination.
And many viewers have admitted they were very happy to see him leave the Australian camp after he became embroiled in a string of rows.
