Josie Gibson revealed her ‘career didn’t kick off’ until after her son was born as she discussed motherhood on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on Thursday.
The presenter, 38, who welcomed Reggie five years ago with her ex Terry Bond, admitted to campmate Sam Thompson that life worked out ‘the opposite way around’ for her.
She first rose to fame in 2010 on the eleventh instalment of Channel 4 show, Big Brother, bagging her current role on ITV’s primetime show This Morning in 2019.
Josie explained: ‘Five years ago [I started hosting This Morning]. It’s such a good gig. I will say this, my career didn’t kick off until Reggie was a few months old.
‘Everybody thinks you have a baby and your life is over. It was totally the opposite for me.’

Sam asked: ‘Do you have a plan?’
Josie replied: ‘Because I’ve always wanted to work for This Morning and I’ve always wanted to be a TV presenter I feel like, in my head, I feel like I’ve sort of made it because I’ve got to where I wanted to be.’
Sam replied: ‘That’s what everyone looks for.’ To which Josie admitted: ‘A lovely place to be.’
‘If anything happened to me tomorrow Sam, I have had a blinder. I’ve had a real good time.’
The popular Bristolian managed to bag 77.5 per cent of the public vote – the highest rate ever seen on Big Brother – when she won the crown in 2010.
Josie has only gone from strength to strength ever since she stormed to victory on the competition show 13 years ago.
Her first gig outside the house was a competition announcer on ITV’s primetime show – This Morning – where she quickly became a fan favourite.
Charismatic Josie later landed the title of relief co-presenter on the show in 2021 – filling in when others were on holiday.
With the departure of the show’s longtime host, Phillip Schofield, Josie saw another step up the career ladder, becoming a main presenter on the show this year.

Josie’s five-year-old son Reggie touched down at Brisbane Airport for his first trip to Australia to be there to greet his mum at the bridge when she leaves I’m A Celebrity.
Sporting a Team Josie T-shirt while sitting on a baggage trolley, Reggie proudly declared: ‘I think that my mummy’s going to win’.
Reggie, who is used to sleeping with his mum every night, was joined by the This Morning presenter’s best friend Mia Williams, also from Bristol, who has been looking after Reggie and her son, Romey Williams.
The trio touched down at Brisbane Airport at 9.45am and Ms Williams said: ‘He’s coped really well considering she’s been gone for a couple of weeks now.
‘It’s the longest they’ve been apart, it’s obviously tough all around but he’s been dealing with it well but it’s tough for her you can see that.
‘She is missing him but she’s doing it for him – she wants him to see her on the TV.’
While Josie, has been in the Jungle Reggie stayed with his father, Terry Bond, a property developer who has known the Big Brother star for over 20 years – the pair started dating in 2017 but split up in 2018 when Reggie was five months old.
He has also been staying with Ms Williams who has recorded the episodes and let him watch the next day as the show airs past his bedtime.
Ms Williams, also from Bristol said: ‘We’ve been best friends for 19 years. So I saw her the whole way through Big Brother and now she’s killing it, I couldn’t be prouder of her. She’s got the whole of Bristol behind her.
‘We’re here to bring the Queen home. There’s no doubt she’s going to be Queen of the Jungle.’
Before she went into I’m A Celebrity Josie did her utmost to prepare Reggie for her absence and told the Mail: ‘I’ve done him a lot of videos before I left and also I’ve explained everything that I possibly can to him.

‘And I’ve been trying to explain that since I signed up. So, each morning we’ve been waking up and he says ‘Mummy are we going to Australia now?’. And I go ‘Not yet Reg’, and he’s going ‘When are we going into the jungle?’ So none of it has come as a shock to him – he’s got his head around it.
‘It is going to be weird but there will be plenty of cuddles when I come out… and it’s all going to be good. He’s going to be experiencing Australia while I’m going to be tucking down on mealworms.’
Ms Williams admitted she showed Reggie all the videos but got them out of the way early.
Ms Gibson, who is being paid a six-figure sum to appear on I’m a Celebrity, turned down invitations for other prime-time shows, saying the option for her son to travel out was ‘a big reason I agreed to do it because obviously to leave Reg is a big ask and commitment’.
