Josh Hall Slams Ex Christina Haack for ‘Classless’ Divorce in First Interview

Josh Hall has stayed quiet amid his messy divorce from ex Christina Haack as it played out in the public eye, and watched as the reality star spilled private details of their marriage.

Now, he’s speaking out for the first time in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail after the judgment was filed just last week, finalizing their divorce.

‘I was trying to be respectful of her children and both of our families, and I didn’t have the need for public opinion. I don’t need to impress people. I don’t need them to know my personal business. I’m more of a private person,’ Hall, 44, insisted.

‘So during the divorce proceedings, I kept myself quiet, but now that the divorce is over and everything’s clear, it’s time for me to say something. Everything previously reported was only her side, and just because she says it doesn’t make it true.

‘I didn’t want to have a public feud and have a back and forth publicly. Now I need to have something to say because, unfortunately, people have only read what she says.’

He went on to say that he thought Haack’s choice to speak about their private matters ‘lacked class.’

‘I thought it lacked class, to be honest,’ the Nashville-based realtor remarked.

‘Divorce isn’t something for public consumption. I understand that we’re public figures – I married one – but I thought it was unnecessary… Obviously don’t drag a divorce out there. It’s immature.’

He added: ‘Let’s share some stuff, but the behaving like a pissed off teenager on social media is just not something I’m going to do.’

Hall filed for divorce from the Christina on the Coast star in July 2024, citing irreconcilable differences. Since then, they had been embroiled in a tense legal battle that involved accusations, such as Haack alleging he requested she pay her ‘$65,000 per month in spousal support,’ which he denied ever saying.

In the judgment obtained by the Daily Mail, it was revealed that Hall waived his right to receive spousal support, as did Haack, despite the TV personality amassing a reported $25 million net worth.

‘She definitely made more money than me,’ he said. ‘I contributed what I had. I added wherever I could and I paid whatever share I was able to throughout the relationship.’

Haack paid him an equalization payment of $300,000, which was part of the equal division of the community estate of their Nashville property, per the final court doc, and was made to ‘resolve all other issues between the parties.’

The couple’s marital assets were split ‘fairly,’ as decided upon during a May mediation hearing, with Hall reasoning that the $300,000 equalization payment came from ‘the sale of one of our investment projects. ‘

Handling the divorce differently, Hall said, 'Divorce isn't something for public consumption. I understand that we're public figures - I married one, but I thought it was unnecessary'

Reflecting on their marriage, Hall told the Daily Mail, 'The reality was I believed it to be very real, had a great connection. We enjoyed the same things. We had each other's backs to no end... We really worked well as a team'

Businesses they once shared ‘have been dissolved and canceled,’ he claimed.

In addition, Haack paid $40,000 for Hall’s attorneys’ fees, as well as the mediation attorneys’ fees from May, and an unallocated sum of $100,000 in 2024.

Despite the $40,000 he received from her, Hall says he spent ‘close to a quarter of a million dollars’ during the divorce proceedings.

Hall explained his decision to decline any spousal support: ‘The reality was, as long as we split things fairly and evenly as we should, there was never going to be a need for it. So when I voluntarily waived spousal support, it was kind of always my plan as long as things were done fairly.’

He went on to say that he had ‘no interest in it’ and that he ‘could have gotten temporary support the entire time we were split,’ but he ‘didn’t ask for a penny.’

He also did not fight over their $4.5 million Franklin, Tennessee home, which was on and off the market until it was eventually awarded to Haack as part of their settlement.

‘I’m not a confrontational person. I’d rather avoid it. Even though I had a legal right to stay at that place while she stayed at our home [in Newport Beach] and that was agreed upon, I would just rather not fight and argue and I just got to a rental,’ Hall told the Daily Mail.

The entrepreneur said he ‘voluntarily gave up more to end’ the divorce, rather than going to trial, which he says, ‘She should be thankful [for].’

Hall believes his relationship to Haack ultimately reached an 'expiration date' and that there 'started to be more lows than highs' and they 'weren't focusing on the highs'

‘I mean, it’s a tough situation. Divorce isn’t pretty, it’s not comfortable. A lot of things change in your life, especially on my side. I had to move away. I had three step kids – I don’t have those anymore,’ Hall stated, referring to Haack’s children from previous marriages (Taylor, 14, Brayden, nine, and Hudson, five).

‘I had businesses, I had relationships and friends – you name it. Basically, all that stuff kind of comes to a halt.’

Haack’s marriage to Hall was her third marriage, following her marriage to Ant Anstead from 2018 to 2021 and Tarek El Moussa from 2009 to 2018.

‘I am not going to throw shade if she wants to get married 10 times until she gets it right. If that’s what she has to do, then she has my blessing,’ Hall confessed.

The former couple met at a real estate conference where she was speaking and then reconnected before they began dating. They officially wed in October 2021 in a courthouse wedding and later celebrated their marriage with friends and family with a romantic ceremony in Maui, Hawaii in September 2022.

Hall told the Daily Mail, ‘The reality was I believed it to be very real, [we] had a great connection. We enjoyed the same things. We had each other’s backs to no end.

‘I mean, I had nothing bad to say about our early relationship. We really cared about each other, and we went through a lot of stuff together… We really worked well as a team. None of it was reality TV based. It was completely real.’

He continued, ‘I was a partner in the production company. I was on the show (The Flip Off) with her. I managed properties, managed our lives. We were always working on something together.’

Josh said on his current romance: ‘I realized, “Geez, if this girl can put up with what I’m going through right now and be the sweet girl she is, she’s worth keeping around”‘

But according to Hall, their relationship failed because there ‘started to be more lows than highs and we weren’t focusing on the highs. She started focusing on the lows.’

‘I think I reached my expiration date and I don’t think she was interested in the kind of relationship she and I had – whether it was where we traveled, what we did, what we enjoyed. I think she wanted to get more into the stuff that she kind of shied away from when we met,’ he explained, while noting that he preferred life in Tennessee rather than life in ‘very fancy’ Newport Beach, California.

Nowadays, he’s still working as a real estate agent, has some construction projects in the works, and is managing some real estate investments – but said he is primarily focused on his new outdoor living company he recently launched with a friend.

Hall is now happily in a new relationship with Stephanie Gabrys, whom he went public with earlier this year – right after the Daily Mail broke the news that Haack was dating Christopher LaRocca, 52, which insiders claimed she was keeping a secret for months.

The HGTV star appears to be going strong with LaRocca, president and CEO of Network Connex, since he’s appeared in several of her recent social media posts.

Hall told the Daily Mail that he ‘wishes the best’ for Haack and LaRocca, and says he has ‘no ill feelings toward her.’

However, he admits there’s ‘no reason’ for them to communicate in the future.

‘Let’s be honest here – the amount of stuff that she attempted to put me through, well, it was a lot. I can forgive her for that, but I’m not going to forget it. And I have enough good people in my life, I don’t have any reason to stay connected to her,’ he said.

‘So there’s no reason for us to communicate. If we see each other, there’s no reason for us to say “hi, hello.” The reality is she was set out to try and destroy me.’

Feeling a ‘sense of relief’ and ‘ready to move on without anything attached to that past,’ Hall says his new relationship is more private and he and the 35-year-old Nashville-based model ‘live a very authentic life’ and ‘do very simple things.’

‘We were introduced by a mutual friend and we were all hanging out at a local restaurant, and it started pretty friendly… I realized, “Geez, if this girl can put up with what I’m going through right now and be the sweet girl she is, she’s worth keeping around.”‘

The Daily Mail has reached out to Haack’s rep for comment.
