Christina Hall’s estranged husband Josh Hall paused their ongoing war of words to remember an old friend who died on Tuesday.
In an Instagram post from the same day, Josh, 43, recalled his late friend Gonzalo Galvez, whom he said he had been good friends with for more than two decades.
‘Today the best human I’ve ever known had his ticket punched by the evil cancer,’ Josh announced.
‘Being the bada** he’s been his whole life, he wasn’t going out without a fight,’ he continued, noting that he and Gonzalo ‘spoke or saw each other weekly’ up until the end.
Josh was particularly impressed by his longtime friend’s ability to ‘never give up’ and never ‘stop fighting’ despite setbacks.

Christina Hall’s estranged husband Josh Hall remembered an old friend who died on Tuesday. In an Instagram post from the same day, he recalled his late friend Gonzalo Galvez, whom he said he had been good friends with for more than two decades

He recounted how the two became fast friends when they were members of the LA County Sheriffs Department, and he recalled how Gonzalo projected a more confident image despite being only a few years older than him
But he also took a somber tone as looked ahead to a future without a cherished pal.
When the friends met or chatted on the phone, Josh said they would ‘relive’ old memories and ‘make more future plans.’
‘Unfortunately, those plans will never happen together, but those memories will live inside me forever,’ he wrote.
Josh went on to applaud Gonzalo for being a ‘once in a lifetime human’ and a ‘living legend who left everyone that came into contact with him inspired,’ despite being neither ‘famous’ nor ‘rich.’

‘I knew this was a guy I wanted as my friend for life,’ Josh wrote.
He saluted his fallen friend for introducing him to a group of ‘lifelong’ friends, and he estimated that their ’23 years’ of friendship included ‘more life and experiences’ than most people could fit into a ‘lifetime.’
Josh emphasized how widely beloved Gonzalo was among his friend group, as members of it ‘took shifts at his bedside.’

He also assured his late friend that ‘Raquel, the kids and your family will have us to pick up the pieces til we are all gone.’
Josh concluded by recounting his friend’s final message to him: ‘”I love you Josh, it’s going to be ok.”‘
He added, ‘I love you Gonzalo Galvez. EOW 08-06-2024.’
Last week, Josh — who denies declining a seven-figure settlement from his ex Christina — shared a selfie resting his head on his dog in a solemn post.
He wrote in the caption: ‘I prefer privacy, especially during something as life changing as a divorce I did not ask for.’
Without naming Christina, he vowed, ‘I will not publicly badmouth anyone as people have families, friends and others who respect and love them. Unfortunately the internet is forever.’
Engaging his 92.3K followers, Josh continued: ‘We are real humans, this is our life and I am not here to entertain people I don’t know with my private matters. Those details will be handled fairly behind closed doors with our respective counsels in due time. Those who know each of us, know who we are.’
Christina and Josh both filed for divorce, with the former listing their date of separation as July 7 while the latter wrote July 8.

A source told Us Weekly this weekend that the soon-to-be exes ‘haven’t even started negotiations’ in their divorce proceedings.
The couple tied the knot in 2022 and did not sign a prenup.
Josh is seeking a 50/50 division of assets, meanwhile, in a July social media statement Christina stated that she does not intend to split her personal assets equally.
In an Instagram story, she declared: ‘I have worked my a** off to build this life for myself and my children and anyone who would try and take what they do not deserve / what they did NOT work for should be ashamed.’
The message continued, ‘An insecure man with a large ego can sure try to derail you — but ‘still I rise.’’
After Josh shared a message about ‘hope’ on his Instagram Stories, Christina took a screenshot of the picture and added her response.
‘I “HOPE” she pays me millions more than what she’s already offered me,’ she wrote in an aggressive swipe at her ex.
Weeks after the back-to-back divorce filings, Christina accused her estranged husband of transferring $35,000 of her money into his bank account.

On Friday, Josh made his first public statement amid his divorce from Christina Hall. He has denied declining a settlement in the ‘millions’ from her

He claimed he wouldn’t ‘badmouth’ Christina after denying her claim that she had offered him millions to quickly resolve their divorce
Per legal documents obtained by ET, the HGTV personality claimed, ‘Josh was able to divert over $35,000 of my separate property rental income into his account.’
She went on to say in the court paperwork, ‘I am asking for Josh to account for the funds taken and return them to me as those funds are specifically used to pay any loans, obligations, property taxes, insurance, and maintenance for these rental properties.’
Christina was previously married to Tarek El Moussa and they share daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, eight.
She was briefly married to Ant Anstead and they share four-year-old son Hudson.
