Jordan North has broken his silence after he quit Radio 1.
The presenter, 34, has stepped down from his Going Home show after a decade with the broadcaster to reportedly replace Roman Kemp as the Capital Breakfast host.
Following Jordan’s huge announcement, it was revealed Jamie Laing, 35, will take his place – Monday to Thursday, 3.30pm to 6pm – next to radio co-host Vick Hope.
Starting on March, 4, the former Made In Chelsea star will permanently replace the host, who has recently become an avid podcaster.
Thankful for all the support from him listeners, Jordan – who also hosts the Help I Sexted My Boss podcast – took to Instagram to thank his 834,000 followers for their positive reaction.

Sharing and album of throwback snaps of his time at the station, Jordan captioned his update: ‘Hello everyone.
‘I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all my wonderful colleagues / talented producers at Radio 1 who many I consider to be friends for life and will miss greatly, you’ve all reached out to me over the past 24 hours and it really has meant a lot.
‘To my amazing fellow presenters I wish I could thank you all personally, I’ve loved working with you it’s been an absolute blast! Big love to Katie Thisleton, Greg James, Arielle Free, Ricky, Melvin & Charlie, Dean & Vicky, Clara Amfo, Matt & Molly, Scott Mills, Grimmy, all the rest of you fantastic lot, and of course my partner in crime Vick Hope…I’ll miss being on air with you every day.
‘MOST IMPORTANTLY the biggest of thank yous to the fantastic listeners who have been really generous and always made me feel welcome, your kind words & messages have been so lovely, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

But not all fans were left happy after the announcement as some fled to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their upset.

Roman is reportedly set to leave Capital Radio after seven years of hosting the channel’s breakfast show alongside Chris Stark and Siân Welby.
According to sources, Jordan is set to replace Roman.
Insiders revealed to The Sun that Jordan had signed a big money deal with the rival station.
The source said: ‘Jordan is moving to Capital FM to replace Roman and he could not be more excited. It is absolutely huge for him and although it’s hard to leave the BBC he is excited to get started on Capital.
‘Jordan’s decision has been a hard pill to swallow for the BBC but there was nothing they could do to change his mind.’

His replacement, Jamie, is a broadcaster and producer who currently co-hosts the hugely successful Radio 1 podcast ‘6 Degrees from Jamie and Spencer’.
He can also be heard on the popular podcast ‘NewlyWeds’ which he presents alongside his wife Sophie Habboo.
The personality tied the knot on April, 14, 2023 in London before they headed to Marbella for a second wedding in front of friends and family on May, 20, 2023.
On the appointment, Jamie said: ‘I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been on air with Radio 1 in recent years, so to be joining Vick on Drivetime is just incredible.
‘To be working with Vick is an absolute dream so I’m beyond excited to get started and keep listeners company on their journeys home.’
The Burnley FC mega fan was announced as a co-host on the BBC Radio 1 daily drivetime show in 2021, alongside Vick.

In 2020, the presenter finished second in the 20th series of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, before he completed an epic 100-mile rowing challenge from London to Burnley for Comic Relief in March 2022.

Radio 1 will also be saying goodbye to Jordan, who has been heard on Radio 1 for the last 10 years with his first major show being Radio 1’s Greatest Hits on Sundays.
