Jonathan Van Ness on Tuesday updated fans on their recovery from a recent surgery.
The 36-year-old Queer Eye star, who is nonbinary and uses the pronouns he/him, she/her, and they/them, took to Instagram Stories on Monday and Tuesday to fill their 5.7 million followers in on their ongoings.
‘Don’t worry, I’m totally fine,’ the Quincy, Illinois native said, showing off a bandage on their right hand on which medics ‘had to get that little, like IV, thing’ to administer anesthesia.
Van Ness, an advocate for trans rights, said they had ‘never gone under anesthesia before,’ and that the procedure they underwent was successful.
‘When I came out of the surgery – which went really good, you guys,’ Van Ness said. ‘I’m gonna be great. I’m gonna be fine – do you know what I said?’

Van Ness said they were told to take things easy for the next seven days amid their recovery.
‘So basically I just need to, like, rest and do no strenuous activity for, like, literally a week – a long time for me,’ Van Ness said.
