The Wicked actor, 37, was the latest celebrity to appear on Sesame Street and the clip was shared to Instagram video on Tuesday.
Jonathan was ‘taking a moment’ out of the day with the beloved children’s character, as he revealed what he likes to do in his downtime.
The British star cosied up to Elmo on a park bench and fans declared that they had never been jealous of the Muppet up until now.
Jonathan, who plays Fiyero in the musical blockbuster, looked typically dashing in a purple round neck jumper. Elmo was wearing a cream cricket jumper.

Jonathan told him: ‘Anything that makes us feel like we are taking care of ourselves.
Sometimes I do nothing… and sometimes I just sit and listen to the leaves. Then I think about all the things that make me smile, like my family and friends. Friends like you.

Earlier this month, Jonathan voiced his elation at being named People’s Sexiest Man Alive, as he declared he was ‘thrilled’ that in 2025, the honour had finally gone to an openly gay man for the first time.
The news he had received the title was revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, with the actor admitting it was ‘the honour of a lifetime’.
Unable to hide his disbelief, Jonathan confessed he was ‘still giggling’, but paused to acknowledge how momentous the occasion was, as it marked the first time People had crowned an openly gay star as their Sexiest Man.
He quipped: ‘In 2025, I’m sort of thrilled that People magazine have invited someone in, to bestow this honour on someone who can really cherish the value of a sexy man.’
