Jon Bon Jovi is the latest A-lister to take on CBeebies Bedtime Stories as he reads Paul McCartney’s Hey Grandude! while embracing being a proud granddad.
The rock legend, 63, became a grandfather for the first time over the summer when his son Jake Bongiovi, 23, and his wife Millie Bobby Brown, 21, adopted a baby girl.
CBeebies Bedtime Story has seen a host of Hollywood stars to settle down and read a children’s book.
Jon, who will appear on screens on Friday, will read Hey Grandude!, a children’s book written by fellow music icon Sir Paul McCartney, 83, and illustrated by Kathryn Durst.
The story follows a super-cool, intrepid grandfather with a magic compass who takes his four grandchildren on whirlwind adventures around the world.
Speaking about why he chose the book for his CBeebies Bedtime Stories debut on November, he said: ‘I picked Hey Grandude! because it’s written by the great Paul McCartney, singer, songwriter, storyteller.
‘He’s someone I’ve always admired and looked up to, not just for his music but for his parenting and grandparenting skills. He’s a dear friend and someone we all admire.
‘Music has played a part in all of my kids’ childhoods, whether it was bedtime, playtime, clean-up time or Daddy-time.’

The Livin’ on a Prayer hitmaker – who also has sons Jesse Bongiovi, 30, and Romeo Bongiovi, 21, as well as 32-year-olddaughter Stephanie Bongiovi – is expecting a second grandchild soon, as Jesse and his wife, Jesse Light, are expecting their first child.
And Jon – real name John Francis Bongiovi Jr. – cannot wait to see his brood become parents and for his grandchildren to teach him things.
The star – affectionately known as Papa – said: ‘I’m looking forward to watching my children become parents and seeing our grandchildren become part of our lives.
‘It’s not about what I’m going to teach my grandchildren, but what they’re going to teach me!’

As well as CBeebies Bedtime Stories, Jon also features in an upcoming episode of the CBeebies Parenting Helpline podcast, where he poses a question about when – and when not – to give parenting advice to your own children.
The episode will be available on the CBeebies Parenting website and BBC Sounds from Thursday, November 27.
