Jojo Siwa has been teasing her next project will include ‘sexual themes’ and may be ‘disturbing’ for younger viewers for the past week.
After issuing multiple warnings across her social media platforms, the 20-year-old dancer unveiled a sneak peek of her latest track, Karma, in which she describes herself as a ‘bad girl.’
‘I was a bad girl, I did some bad things/ I swear I did it off of fun and it meant nothing,’ she crooned in the first verse. ‘Another late night, another crazy mood/And I didn’t think twice what it would do to you.’
She proceeds to sing that she’s always been a ‘wild child’ and it was only a ‘matter of time before’ she ‘blew it.’

The Nickelodeon alum, who became a sensation among tweens for her hits like Boomerang, went on to drop her first cuss words in song.
‘Karma is a b**ch, I should’ve known better/ If I had a wish I would’ve never f**ked around,’ she declared in the chorus. ‘Karma is a b**ch/ And she’s with you right now.’
To many of her fans’ shock, Siwa also uploaded an up-close photo of her bottom and various racy images, including her flipping off the camera and holding another woman’s waist.
Many commenters compared her shedding her child-friendly image to Miley Cyrus, a fellow former child star, who also got rid of her squeaky clean ‘good girl’ image in an extreme way.
‘She’s basically letting y’all know she’s no longer a child and she’s not going to act like it anymore… so if you don’t want your kids (who followed her because she was a kid) to see her doing adult things this is your warning to unfollow… it’s not that hard to read and understand,’ one fan wrote.

‘She’s hitting her adult era,’ a third wrote.
Amid some criticism, numerous social media users stood up for Siwa as they asked others to allow herself to ‘discover herself.’

‘Why do we gotta harsh on her so hard when she’s just like every single one of us tryna get by in life? Is it just because she’s famous?? Just leave the little lady be,’ one asked.
Another wrote: Jojo is growing up and is allowed to expand herself!!
Still some expressed confusion over when Siwa was ever ‘a bad girl’ and felt that ‘lyrically’ the song did not match her lifestyle.
One concerned follower predicted that the former Dance Moms star was ‘having a psychotic episode.’
Her post comes just day after opening about her love life at the 2024 GLAAD Awards on Thursday.

When asked if she was currently dating anyone, the reality star said: ‘Actually, I’m sure you wouldn’t like to know, but I’m sure you would like to know.’
‘I got a good word for it — messy,’ she admitted. ‘I’m messy.’
Previously, Siwa dated TikToker Avery Cyrus and Kylie Prew, who she first on a cruise in 2020.
Last year, she revealed she realized she ‘gay at Disney World’ while on a two-week vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth with Prew, her brother Jayden Siwa and his girlfriend.
As they had a blast riding fun roller coasters and spending quality time together, the Boomerang hitmaker said she ‘realized’ she had romantic feelings for Prew.
The Nickelodeon alum, who became a sensation among tweens for hit Boomerang and YouTube channel, proceeded to drop her first cuss words in her entire musical discography in the chorus
‘Karma is a b**ch, I should’ve known better/ If I had a wish I would’ve never f**ked around,’ she declared in the chorus. ‘Karma is a b**ch/ And she’s with you right now’

‘Having all those feelings while just being in the most magical place in the world and the happiest place on Earth was so cool,’ Siwa gushed. ‘We’re not together anymore, but we did have some really fun, happy memories here.’
The performer and Prew, 18, most recently broke up over the summer in 2022, a year after rekindling their romance following their split in 2021.
During their separation, the social media sensation had a short-lived relationship with Avery Cyrus.
In August, Prew confirmed they called it quits during a live video posted to TikTok, in which she told her followers: ‘Someone asked me, just now, if I was single. I am. I been single for almost two months.’

The dancer issued several warnings about her rebrand, before sharing her raciest content to date
‘It’s OK, it’s not deep, I promise. Everything’s fine. Not everything has to be messy and gross. Because it’s not. And I just wanted to clear the air,’ the influencer said.
She added: ‘We’re both safe and happy and healthy and that’s all that matters. It doesn’t need to be drama because that just gives everyone unwanted anxiety, especially if they’re like me.’
In a bid to make their relationship work, Siwa said she and Prew set ‘new boundaries’ to make it work.
The performer rose to fame wearing a big bwo in her hair throughout her adolescence (pictured in 2018)
Siwa previously revealed she discovered her sexuality on a trip to Disney World with her then-friend Kylie Prew, who she first on a cruise in 2020
‘We’re still learning things, setting new boundaries, releasing boundaries… all the normal things,’ she told People last year.
In January 2021, JoJo came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and talked about Kylie and conversation about defining and unpacking her sexuality in an April interview.
‘I still don’t know what I am. It’s like, I want to figure it out. And I have this joke. Her name is Kylie. And so I say that I’m Ky-sexual,’ she told People.
At the time she also gushed: ‘She [Kylie] never cares what the internet said about us,’ as she spoke about acclimating to being publicly out. ‘It’s nice to have somebody in my life like that.’
