Johnny Manziel and his girlfriend, Josie Canseco, are no longer hiding their romance after publicly announcing their relationship on social media last month.

Two weeks after sharing a series of loved-up photos together from Stagecoach, the ex-NFL quarterback, 31, and 27-year-old daughter of baseball legend Jose Canseco, did not shy away from engaging in some PDA after a date night at Giorgio Baldi. 

The couple looked inseparable as they held hands following a romantic dinner at the  celeb hot spot, beloved by stars like Rihanna, Beyoncé and billionaire Jeff Bezos. 

For the occasion, the former professional athlete wore a pair of distressed light-wash jeans, a black hoodie and grey sneakers with mismatched shoe laces.

Josie rocked a similar casual ensemble, which included a cropped black zip-up, jeans, black Converses and a baseball cap over her braided blonde locks. 

Although the duo seemed unfazed by the interest in their relationship on social media, eagle-eyed fans of Manziel noticed he and his former pal Mike Stud, who dated Josie for four years, unfollowed each other on Instagram.

It is unclear when the duo stopped following each other or whether the decision was connected to Manziel and Josie’s relationship.

Stud and the Victoria’s Secret model broke up after hitting a ‘rough patch in 2018 and after trying to work things out,’ according to TMZ. 

Following their breakup, she told the outlet that she had ‘nothing but love for him always.’ 

Meanwhile, Manziel, a former Heisman Trophy winner, and Stud ran a podcast called Ball Don’t Lie together, in which they regularly spoke about their friendship. 

During an episode of the YNK: you know what I mean? podcast, in which Stud interviewed Manziel, Stud praised Manziel for not letting fame change him. 

‘I don’t think a ton of people get to know you the way I’ve known you,’ Stud said. 

Manziel agreed, stating ‘no chance.’

‘At the peak of your fame, where I was, we were buddies, you are the exact same as you are now,’ Stud told listeners in 2021. 

On April 29, Manziel and Canseco hard-launched their relationship on social media.

In the snaps, uploaded to their respective accounts, Manziel and Canseco were captured embracing one another at Stagecoach as they hugged in one photo and stared into each other’s eyes in another. 

Manziel showed off the latter photo to his 1.7million Instagram followers on his story – as well as a video of his girlfriend dancing – while Canseco shared the photo of them hugging. 

The photos and video were taken as they enjoyed Morgan Wallen’s set at the festival.

It’s not clear when the couple began dating, though Manziel most recently dated beauty specialist Kenzie Werner.

Before that, he was married to Bre Tiesi from 2018 to 2021.

Canseco has previously dated Logan Paul and Brody Jenner.

Manziel was a first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft after winning a Heisman Trophy at Texas A&M, but flamed out of the pros in just two seasons.

He has spoken since about his drug abuse during his time in the NFL, telling Shannon Sharpe in February that he dropped from 210 pounds to 170 in 2015 due to his heavy cocaine use.

The model is the daughter of former MLB slugger Jose Canseco, who hit 17 seasons in the pros

Manziel was known to frequently party off the field and played just 14 career games as he struggled for the Cleveland Browns. He recalled heading to Las Vegas right after the conclusion of the 2015 season and taking stock of his drug problem.

‘The coke, the oxy and the Percocet were very, very tumultuous in my life and popped their head especially the days of wandering around the Hollywood Hills,’ he said on the Club Shay Shay podcast.

‘It makes sense why you’d see me so sporadic. I was 210 pounds when I left Cleveland. I was 170 pounds sitting in Vegas.

‘How do you lose 40 pounds?’ Manziel asked himself. ‘You’re on a strict diet of blow.’

Manziel said in the interview that he’s now trying to stay sober.
