John Stamos continues to remember his late friend Bob Saget, nearly two years after his death.
The Full House star, 60, posted a picture of multiple cast members of the series, including Saget, as they posed on the steps of the San Francisco house featured in the comedy.
‘One of the last pictures of all of us in San Fran in front of the iconic Painted Lady,’ Stamos captioned the photo, which featured him, Saget, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber.
Stamos played Jesse Katsopolis on the ABC series from 1987–1995, and on its Netflix reboot Fuller House from 2016–2020 alongside Saget, who played the role of Danny Tanner.
Saget was found dead at the age of 65 in his bed on January 9, 2022 in a Ritz-Carlton hotel room in Orlando, Florida, the evening after he had performed a two-hour show at Jacksonville’s Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.

A medical examiner’s report stated that Saget’s death was the result of an accidental hit to his head, presumably from falling backwards.
Stamos and multiple members of the Full House cast, including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, were in attendance at a private funeral held for Saget in Los Angeles on January 14, 2022.
The Cypress, California native, in his new memoir If You Would Have Told Me, opened up about how he’d come to learn the news of Saget’s death nearly two years ago.
The Emmy-nominated actor said he had been driving in Los Angeles when his publicist Matt Polk asked him if he had spoken with Saget, and informed him that TMZ contacted him with reports of Saget’s passing.
The Big Shot star said he was initially skeptical, but his concerns spiked after he was not able to get a hold of Saget or Saget’s spouse Kelly Rizzo.
He then began receiving texts from Cameron Bure about a DM she got claiming Saget had died.
Stamos said that he learned the tragic truth when Rizzo called him back moments later.
He wrote: ‘When I switch callers over to Kelly, all I hear is a wailing scream. I hit the ground in the parking lot and my knees slam down on the asphalt. “Nooooooooooooooooooooo.”‘

Stamos said he called his wife Caitlin McHugh with the sad news, then began contact other castmates to confirm the news, including Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin.
Stamos said he left a message for Coulier saying, ‘Dave, Bob Saget is dead.’
Stamos wrote: ‘Not sure why I have to use his last name. Dave knows I’m not calling to tell him Bob Hope died. I call Lori, who’s on the eighth hole of LakeView Country Club golfing with her husband. “Bob is dead, Lori.” She tells me later she dropped to her knees like me.’
In his memoir, Stamos paid tribute to Saget’s immense talents as an entertainer, referring to his career as a comedian, actor and host of America’s Funniest Home Videos.
‘He’s America’s favorite dad to a generation of kids,’ Stamos said. ‘Before YouTube, he was the guy that riffed on your family’s grainy VHS videos.
‘He’s the filthiest comedian of all time to the aristocrats out there. He’d read the corniest copy with devilish intelligence and tells the most salacious story with purity.’
Stamos wrote that ‘it’s impossible to capture the spirit of a guy who belongs to everyone,’ and while he doesn’t ‘have exclusive rights … the loss is personal, painful, and beyond belief.’
Stamos said that his responsibilities to his wife McHugh and their five-year-old son Billy were a stabilizing force amid the emotionally devastating loss of his friend.

‘In the past, feeling stripped of someone I loved made me want to join them,’ he said in his memoir. ‘No way I’d ever try to overdose or blow my brains out, but I have a history of wanting that bad feeling of emptiness to go away fast.
‘Not this time. No drugs, no booze, no bulls***. I need to be here for my wife and my child.’
Stamos in the book said he’s ‘still not ready to accept’ Saget’s death, and isn’t sure he ‘ever will be.’
He added, ‘I try to imagine him still on the road, doing what he loves. He’s standing onstage, killing. Another two-hour set in front of a couple hundred of the luckiest people on the planet. They’re laughing so hard they weep.
‘And just when they catch their breath, he grabs his guitar and slays with one of his musical closers. There’s an encore, and another, and another. Everyone wants an encore with Bob.’
