Just over a month after John Owen Lowe and Lucy Hale sparked dating rumors, Lowe seemed to shut them down.
The 28-year-old actor and son of Rob Lowe was spotted leaving Tocaya Modern Mexican in Studio City with Hale in late June.
Just a few days later, though, Hale was spotted on a dinner date with The White Lotus producer David Bernard.
While Hale, 35, has never publicly addressed the speculation, Lowe, who is promoting the new season of Unstable, debuting August 1, was asked about it on an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.
A fan called in to ask if Lowe was, ‘more than just friends’ with Hale, which he cryptically addressed.

‘Oh my God. I think you can go to Erewhon with someone and get photographed and things can blow out of proportion, that’s all I’ll say,’ Lowe said.
The dating speculation went all the way back to April, when Lowe celebrated his sixth year of sobriety in an Instagram post.
‘Six years ago today I took my last sip of alcohol. If you or anyone you know is struggling with addiction, reach out. Ask for help. I did and it changed my life,’ Lowe said in the post.
Among the many who left comments was Hale, who announced she was two years sober in January.
‘This is amazing. You are amazing. Bright & shiny human,’ Hale said in the comments, along with a black heart emoji.
Hale has been open about her sobriety journey over the past few years, revealing in early January 2023 – when celebrating her first year of sobriety, that she first started drinking when she was 12 or 13.
‘I remember my very first experience with alcohol was the same as when it ended. I blacked out — at 12 years old. I don’t remember what happened, I threw up, I got very sick, and I remember being so distraught when I realized what had happened,’ she said.
She said that she didn’t realize she had a problem with alcohol until she was in her 20s, attending rehab for the first time at 23, while starring on Pretty Little Liars.

‘I went to rehab when I was 23. I don’t think anyone on the show knew. And it was my choice, too,’ she said.
“That was a pivotal moment in my life. (But) I wasn’t ready to give up drinking, which is why I didn’t get sober until I was 32,’ she explained.
