John Grimes: Celebrity Villa Under Lockdown After Break-Ins

John Grimes has revealed how the Celebrity Ex On The Beach villa had to be locked down by security, after there were multiple incidents of people trying to break in.

The fourth series of the popular reality programme returned to our screens on Paramount+ in March and is filmed in Tenerife.

This year the star-studded cast includes the likes of Corrie's , Love Island stars and , 's  and  star Amy Kenyon, alongside Jedward star John, 34.

And the star has now revealed that fans and locals were so eager to get a glimpse of the famous faces that they attempted to sneak into the grounds, forcing security to step in.

'People knew the location of the villa,' he explained to The Sun. 'Fans and people in the local area were trying to come into the grounds.

'Things kept happening. It was the only lit up place in a desolate area, so people were like, "What’s that? Let’s try to get in".

'Producers were like, "We’re trying to film a show." Security stopped anyone from getting in.'

It comes after John himself left the  bosses 'furious' after spoiling on social media that he had.

In the trailer the couple were seen sharing a steamy kiss, but their relationship was left on a cliffhanger. 

But just days before the show premiered in March, John posted two sweet photos of himself and Sarah standing in front of Tower Bridge at the show's launch party. 

Captioning the snap, he gushed: 'Here's to a new chapter and making memories with the best girl xxx.'

But by going Instagram official with Sarah, the X Factor star was accused of ruining the mystery of the series and making his storyline 'pointless'.  

A source told The Sun: 'John posting that he's back with his ex was terrible timing as it makes his whole storyline on the show pointless.

'Cast were asked to keep a bit of mystery around who got back with their ex and who hooked up with who so people tuned in, but clearly John was so thrilled he just went ahead and posted without thinking.'

They added: 'Bosses are fuming but it's not like he did it on purpose.'

But the publication later revealed the real reason that John had risked the wrath of the bosses with his public declaration of love for Sarah, after keeping their relationship private the first time round.

'Sarah has been quietly telling her pals, as well as John, that she’s really nervous to be thrust into the spotlight and so John wanted to throw his support behind her all the way,' a source said.

'He knew that posting a photo of them loved-up would ruffle some feathers with MTV bosses but he wants to make sure Sarah knows that he has her back now that news of their romance has become so public.'

They added: 'He is fiercely protective and won’t hear a bad word about her.'

The singer admitted going on the reality dating show has helped himself and Sarah 'deal with love life regrets' as they are now in different places in life. 

Speaking about coming face-to-face with Sarah on the show, he said: 'It was a really good feeling because we always got along even after we weren't together.

'She has tried dating different people and so did I, but then at the same time you don't know all you had until they're gone. 

'I know it's a classic saying, but then you realise that she's come all the way out here [to Tenerife where the show is filmed] and she's taken time off work to be here, so that speaks volumes for me.'  

John insisted going on the dating show has helped 'deal with his love life regrets' and he has now gone about the relationship differently. 

'I'm sure a lot of my exes have regrets for not doing enough to keep me around, you know, I'm a keeper', he joked.  

'I think going on this show dealt with those love life regrets though because it gave me the chance to be reunited with an ex and then go about it differently in the way that you possibly didn't before.

'So you put yourself in the right space to go, well, I'm in a different place in my life and maybe I didn't make the moves that I needed to or put a label on it back then. So now here I am, going back differently.'

Away from Ex On The Beach John lifted the lid on his very surprising love life since finding fame on the X Factor 2009.

Since being in the public eye, the brothers have kept their private life out of the spotlight, but John has now opened up about his dating history. 

'My favourite date was going to a Beyonce concert in Amsterdam', he explained. 

'It was very last minute and I was like, well none of your besties are taking you so you know what I'm going to bring you. 

'It was very last minute and we enjoyed Beyonce and we flew in the plane there and it was so much fun'.

The singer also revealed he loves to cheekily slide into DMs on social media but has been forced to 'unsend' a message after being ghosted.  

Despite always being with his identical twin Edward, John said the pair have never really been on a double date as 'you can only go so far with your brother there', he teased. 

'When it comes to dating and stuff we go that alone, but you know we have chats about it and see how it went.'
