John Farnham’s family have given an encouraging update on the music legend’s cancer battle.
On Friday, the You’re The Voice hitmaker’s sons announced their dad was ‘keeping positive’ after having a cancerous growth removed from his mouth in 2022.
The chart-topper was declared cancer-free last August and wowed fans earlier this year when he attended the wedding of his oldest son, Rob and his new bride Melissa.
‘He’s doing really well,’ Rob, 44, said during an appearance alongside his brother James, 36, on Seven’s Sunrise.
‘Every day is another step, and a step forward, as it is for everyone with cancer,’ he said.
‘And he’s just gotta keep moving forward and keeping positive, and you know, keep driving forward.’
At one point during the segment Rob appeared moved when Sunrise shared with viewers a photo of John at his son’s wedding in June.
The picture, showing a smiling John next to his son in his wedding tux, went viral after Rob shared it to his Instagram soon after the nuptials.

The family were inundated with warm comments from fans.
‘I’m glad that everyone took to it so well,’ Rob said during the breakfast show.
Elsewhere in the chat, James shared that his dad had been ‘impressed’ when he saw superstar Celine Dion pay him tribute in her recent Prime Video documentary I Am: Celine Dion.
John’s sons also shared that they have signed on as ambassadors for the Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day fundraiser next Thursday, August 22.

John’s health update comes ahead of Sunday’s Logies in which his documentary Finding the Voice is up for a gong in the Best Factual or Documentary Program category.

Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian will take the stage alongside The Farnham Band in a special performance celebrating Farnham’s illustrious career and remarkable achievements.
This tribute is expected to be one of the highlights of the night, as the Logies pay homage to an artist who has left an indelible mark on Australian music.
Sadly, John will unlikely to ever perform again after undergoing a marathon surgery to remove the tumour from his mouth.
The operation, carried out by 26 medical staff, also saw a major part of his jaw removed and, 12 months after the surgery Farnham revealed that he was cancer free.

He had only discovered he had the cancerous growth in his mouth after his wife Jill insisted on taking him to the doctor for a check up when he developed a persistent mouth ulcer.
Mauboy and Sebastian, both of whom have been vocal about their admiration for Farnham, are expected to deliver a powerful and emotional performance.
Meanwhile, the presenters for the night will include Celia Pacquola, Stephen Peacocke, Michelle Lim Davidson, Claudia Karvan, Costa Georgiadis, Sarah Abo, Charlie Albone, Stephen Curry and the Muster Dogs, with more to be announced.
