Aussie music icon John Farnham is suddenly going viral across the United States and it’s for a very surprising reason.
The 75-year-old’s career defining track You’re the Voice has been given another lease on life thanks to an ‘inspirational’ campaign video endorsing Democrat nominee Kamala Harris for US President.
The uplifting two-minute ad was not created by Kamala Harris’ election campaign but rather by a passionate US political commentator who runs the popular X account Truth Matters.
The video starts with a montage highlighting some of former President Donald Trump’s ‘controversial’ statements before the Farnham classic swells underneath images of hope and unity.
Despite the origins of the clip, many took the time to comment how moved they were by the Video, particularly with the deft use of the song.
‘That is an absolute masterclass in matching music to message,’ one fan wrote on X.
‘Glad to see someone finally dusted off that old John Farnham song, You’re The Voice.’
Another chimed in with a similar: ‘Can 2024 be the year America makes the right choice AND realises that John Farnham has one of the greatest voices of all time.’
