Joey Lawrence and wife Samantha Cope are expecting their second child together – nearly one year after calling off their divorce.
The 49-year-old actor – who already shares daughter Dylan, two, with Samantha – announced the exciting news as the couple attended the 20th anniversary episode of Dancing With The Stars on Tuesday.
The Melissa & Joey alum is also father to daughters Charleston, 19, and Liberty, 15 – whom he welcomed with ex-wife Chandie Yawn-Newton.
While walking the red carpet ahead of watching the latest DWTS episode, Lawrence told Entertainment Tonight, ‘Nothing is planned. Not even this.’
He then motioned to his wife’s stomach which prompted her to gently cradle her growing baby bump.
‘This is not planned. No, I’m kidding. I’m kidding,’ Lawrence jokingly added before the interviewer questioned how they were both ‘feeling’ ahead of welcoming baby number two.

‘It’s not me. She’s the one actually doing the work. I’m just here going, “Look at this,”‘ he expressed.
Lawrence then turned towards Cope and asked, ‘How are you feeling?’ and she replied, ‘I feel great. Thank you for asking.’
The couple then commented on spending time with children during the holiday season before revealing the gender of their second child.
‘You know, I got the older girls and then we have our little one Dylan,’ the actor explained. ‘And now we got this little guy.’
Cope confirmed the special update and told the interviewer, ‘Yeah, a boy. Our first boy.’
The couple first crossed paths back in 2020 while on set of the Lifetime movie My Husband’s Secret Brother.
The stars struck up a whirlwind romance and became engaged the following year. Lawrence and Cope said ‘I do’ in May 2022 during a ceremony in Temecula, California.
And in January 2023, their daughter Dylan was welcomed to the world.

But in August 2024, Cope filed for divorce from Lawrence and cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their split. She also requested for full custody of their little girl.
Not long after the divorce news came to light, the actor was accused of having an alleged affair with his Socked In For Christmas co-star Melina Alves.
Alves denied the affair rumors in a statement which read: ‘First and foremost, I want to clarify that there was no sexual relationship between Joey and myself while we were on set filming Socked in for Christmas.
‘Our relationship was a meaningful friendship that developed naturally due to the many similarities in our personal situations.’
She went on to explain that they had become pals over ‘common ground in our shared experiences.’
Lawrence had also addressed the speculation on The Brotherly Love Pod podcast and said, ‘This has been a multifaceted journey these four [or] five years.
‘Actually, there was a lot of pain in that journey despite public perception and what it looks like [on social media]. Life will move on and we will move through this. And my children will be at the forefront.’
But late last year in December, Lawrence revealed that he had reconciled with Cope after sharing romantic snaps of them posing together.

The Blossom actor also penned in the caption at the time: ‘I am beyond grateful. I am beyond blessed. I am galaxies beyond thankful. My heart is so full ❤️.’
Back in July, Lawrence revealed how he won back Cope after her divorce filing during an interview with E! News.
‘I think it’s too easy. As much you don’t want to take an easy way out, or you think this will be the fix – it’s not always the case. I just didn’t want to do that. And she didn’t either.’
The star continued, ‘It’s like, “Wait a minute. There’s something so special here.”‘
Lawrence then reflected on working hard to repair their relationship and explained to the outlet, ‘Things take a lot of work and a lot of dedication and reworking and retooling.
‘I think it’s too easy. As much you don’t want to take an easy way out, or you think this will be the fix – it’s not always the case. I just didn’t want to do that. And she didn’t either,’ Lawrence said
Before his marriage to Cope, Lawrence was previously married to Chandie Yawn-Newton from 2005 through 2022; former couple seen in 2013 in L.A.
‘That’s life, though. As brothers, with your parents, with friends, in business, that’s it. Everything takes so much work.’
The Brotherly Love star added, ‘Whatever it is, just don’t give up, because you never know.’
Before his marriage to Cope, Lawrence was previously married to Chandie Yawn-Newton from 2005 through 2022.
The actor also tied the knot with Michelle Vella in 2002 but their divorce was finalized in 2005.
