Married At First Sight Joel Moses has revealed the deeply personal story behind his beloved teddy bear after the childhood toy became the target of brutal mockery during Tuesday night's explosive dinner party.

The quirky prop has been a constant presence throughout the experiment – but viewers were left stunned when the bear was dragged into his feud with partner Juliette Chae.

The moment quickly became one of the most uncomfortable scenes of the episode, with fellow cast members visibly shocked as the teddy bear was used as ammunition in the couple's ongoing clash.

But speaking exclusively to Daily Mail, Joel revealed the toy holds far greater meaning than what was shown on screen.

'I've had Teddy for 31 years. He is like a child to me, and I am not embarrassed to admit my connection to this blue, fluffy, cute bear,' Joel said.

The Sydney-based drummer explained that the sentimental item dates back to a childhood family holiday that took a devastating turn when he lost his original teddy bear.

The quirky prop has been a constant presence throughout the experiment – but viewers were left stunned when the bear was dragged into his feud with partner Juliette Chae (Pictured)

'We were on a family holiday road tripping from Sydney to the Gold Coast. When we got to Surfers, we realised my current teddy was lost (teddy's brother). I was one year old at the time, and as you can imagine, crying and hysterical,' he said.

Joel said his grandmother immediately stepped in to comfort him in what became a treasured family memory.

'My grandmother, who I was so close to, like the angel she was, scooted off instantly to the nearest shopping centre to buy me a new teddy,' he continued.

'Ever since then I have been surgically attached to this bear. It's the most sentimental item I own.'

The touching story adds a very different perspective to the scenes that aired during the chaotic dinner party, where the toy became a punchline during the couple's fiery argument.

The pair's relationship has been on shaky ground for some time following a series of explosive moments during the experiment's crash course intimacy tasks.

Juliette previously admitted she struggled to even look at Joel after discovering a bizarre online video of him playing drums with a sex toy, prompting her to describe his eyes as 'devil eyes' and refuse to complete certain exercises with him.

By the time the cast gathered for the dinner party, tensions between the couple had reached breaking point.

In one of the night's most shocking moments, the teddy bear became a focal point of the argument as the couple's issues spilled out in front of the entire group.

While some participants questioned Joel's attachment to a childhood toy, others appeared uncomfortable with how the situation unfolded.

Joel has since doubled down on his affection for the bear, revealing it has been such a big part of his life that it even inspired a children's book.

'We even worked with a children's author when I was a young child to write a book about my connection with Teddy called 'Furring Up With Love,' he said.

The revelation sheds new light on what viewers saw play out on screen and highlights the emotional backstory behind one of the most talked-about props of the season.

And if the drama between Joel and Juliette continues to escalate, it appears the teddy bear may remain one of the few constants in the groom's corner.

Married At First Sight continues Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine.
