Bodycoach Joe Wicks has revealed his wife Rosie had to go to hospital last week after it was discovered she had appendicitis while she is pregnant with their fourth child.
Rosie, who is already mum to daughters Indigo and Leni and son Marley, is 21 weeks into her new pregnancy but had health concerns which made her have to seek urgent medical attention.
Joe, who is himself recovering from an ongoing shoulder injury, showed off a picture of Rosie’s tummy with fresh bandages from her procedure and revealed to his fans online: ‘Rosie had to go into hospital last week to have her appendix out, She and the baby are all good, She’s on the mend now.’
It appears that Rosie has undergone a laparoscopic appendectomy.
In comparison to open appendectomy, laparoscopic appendectomy is a minimally invasive surgery to remove the appendix through small incisions.
Since pregnant women tend to have more chances to develop appendix ruptures that spill infectious contents into the abdominal cavity and causing sepsis, emergency surgery must be immediately performed.

The couple are already proud parents to Leni, Marley, three, and eldest daughter Indie, five.
Joe and Rosie have been together since 2016 and tied the knot in a stunning countryside ceremony in 2019.
Last July, the fitness guru revealed he had pulled daughter Indie out of reception to homeschool her.
Joe said he and Rosie, who would like six children, plan to do at least one year of home educating at their £4 million mansion in Surrey.
‘There’s really nothing more to the decision than we just love being together as a family and want to spend more time with the kids while we can,’ he wrote in a post on Instagram.
