The cast and directors of Barbie, Killers of the Flower Moon, and The Color Purple will all be sitting together at this weekend’s 81st Golden Globes Awards.
The finishing touches are underway for one of Hollywood’s biggest nights, and on Thursday part of the seating chart for Sunday’s ceremony was revealed during the press preview at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
Barbie stars Margot Robbie, 33, and Ryan Gosling, 43, are seated next to Killers of the Flower Moon director Martin Scorsese, 81, and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, 49, and Robert De Niro, 80.
Next to the Godfather star is The Color Purple producer Oprah Winfrey, 69, and stars Danielle Brooks, 34, and Fantasia Barrino, 39.
Host Jo Koy, 52, was also present at the preview and helped roll out the red carpet for the A-listers who will be in attendance.

All three films are up for a number of nominations this year.
Koy (real name: Joseph Glenn Herbert Sr.) sported a black oversized coat and a matching button-up and pants for the chilly Thursday afternoon preview.
At one point he was joined by EVP of Television for Dick Clark Productions, Barry Adelman, showrunner/executive producers of the Globes, Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss, and Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne, who helped him roll out the famous red carpet.
While meeting the press Koy revealed his excitement over the upcoming gig, telling Yahoo Entertainment: ‘Who wouldn’t be happy to do this? You’re pretending if you’re not.’
As for his goal for the night he expressed: ‘I want viewers to be happy and it’s my job to make sure they’re having fun watching it.’
Koy – who previously struck up headlines for his relationship with now ex-girlfriend Chelsea Handler – was announced at the host in late December, marking it his first awards show hosting job.
Unlike other previous hosts like Ricky Gervais, Tiny Fey, Amy Poehler, Seth Meyers and Jerrod Carmichael, Koy has only had two weeks to prepare for the show, as he was hired on December 21.
‘I mean, who in their right mind would want to write jokes just days before a show?’ he said of the tight deadline.

Barbie dominated the nominations with nine nods for the blockbuster film, including best picture musical or comedy, as well as acting nominations for Margot and Ryan and three of its original songs
Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon has been nominated for seven awards. DiCaprio is up for best male actor in a motion picture drama – while De Niro is up for best supporting male actor
‘You know what I mean? That’s the kind of pressure we’ve been under. I mean, I have a great team of writers, but it’s been just nonstop hour after hour after hour, crafting jokes and bits and getting ready. A lot of hosts get six months to prepare. We got two weeks.’
When asked about people possibly taking notice of the show being rushed together, he replied: ‘Who cares if it does? We’re gonna be in a beautiful room, having a great time. Let’s go.’
After he was announced as host, Koy gushed that he was ‘so excited’ in a statement shared with the announcement.
‘I’ve stepped onto a lot of stages around the world in my career, but this one is going to be extra special. I’m so excited to be hosting the Golden Globes this year,’ he wrote. ‘This is that moment where I get to make my Filipino family proud. Mahal Kita [Google it]!’
The phrase means ‘I love you’ in Tagalog, one of the most prominent languages in the Philippines, where his mother hails from.
In a video shared to his Instagram account around the same time, a clearly excited Jo said viewers were ‘wondering’ who this year’s host would be, before shouting, ‘It’s me!’
He added, ‘It’s going to be me, the whole time,’ after giving his fans all the details about how to watch the show.
Barbie dominated the nominations this year, with nine nods for the blockbuster film, including best picture musical or comedy, as well as acting nominations for Margot and Ryan and three of its original songs.
It was closely followed by its release date companion, Oppenheimer, which scored eight nominations, including best picture drama and for actors Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt.
The movie’s respective directors Greta Gerwig and Christopher Nolan are both up for best director and best screenplay for a motion picture.

Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon has also been nominated for seven awards. DiCaprio is up for best male actor in a motion picture drama – while De Niro is up for best supporting male actor.
The legendary director’s movie is also nominated for best picture drama.
Scorsese himself has been nominated for best director for a motion picture – alongside Bradley Cooper for Maestro, Yorgos Lanthimos for Poor Things, Celine Song for Past Lives, and the Barbenheimer duo Gerwig and Nolan.
The Golden Globes were purchased by Eldridge Industries with Dick Clark Productions back in June, after the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which previously ran the event, was shut down following accusations over lack of diversity.
The group was hit with payola allegations in 2011, and it was criticized that year for nomination the Best Picture contenders Burlesque and The Tourist.
Both films received terrible reviews, but the HFPA voters had been flown by Burlesque producers to a Cher concert in Las Vegas, leading critics to allege that the act had helped the film receive an inappropriate nomination.
The Tourist’s star Angelina Jolie was also reported to have personally lobbied members of the group ahead of her film — which costarred Johnny Depp — receiving a nomination.
The organization was further tarnished in 2018, when Brendan Fraser alleged to GQ that former HFPA president Philip Berk had sexually assaulted him in 2003. Berk was subsequently fired from the organization in 2021 after he called Black Lives Matter a ‘racist hate movement’ in an email to HFPA members.
More recently, a 2021 Los Angeles Times investigation revealed several ethical issues within the organization.

The exposé also revealed that the HFPA had no Black voters in the organization, which many critics took as a reason for Black actors being snubbed in previous years.
The show’s then-host NBC subsequently dropped the Globes in 2022, and the organization was subsequently broken up.
A new for-profit entity was created from the group’s assets Eldridge Industries and its subsidiary Dick Clark Productions, which had produced the show since 1993.
Meanwhile, the HFPA’s charitable activities continued via the creation of a new, separate non-profit entity.
