J.Los Secret Romance Exposed Amid Ben Affleck Drama

When rumors surfaced last year that Jennifer Lopez was getting cozy with her Office Romance co-star Brett Goldstein, it seemed to fans that the pop star had finally moved on from her failed marriage to ex .

From their Broadway date night in , to reports of the co-stars 'canoodling' at the Office Romance wrap party, to 's confession that the star, 45, was the she has ever worked with, it appeared that the co-stars had successfully taken their sizzling on-screen chemistry into the real world.

The red carpet photos at the Upfront event earlier this month were quite convincing too.

As Lopez, 56, and Goldstein together, a smiling Goldstein wrapped his arm around the singer's waist as she looked up adoringly into his eyes.

But fans shouldn't be so easily fooled by their unconvincing 'showmance.'

For insiders have claimed they're simply playing into the dating rumors in a cynical - if not a little embarrassing - attempt to drum up buzz for their Netflix rom-com, and advance Goldstein's star level into 'leading man status.'

As for Lopez, it surely wouldn't hurt to be romantically linked to a handsome co-star following her 'devastating' split from Affleck, 53. After all, insiders have told the Daily Mail that Lopez 'will always love' the Oscar-winning director.

'Jennifer and Brett are not dating or romantically involved at all,' one insider told us exclusively.

'They think it's actually really funny that people are suggesting they are [dating], and they're going with it because they're both really excited for Office Romance to come out.'

In Office Romance, which hits Netflix on June 5, Lopez portrays a workaholic CEO who falls for a new employee, played by Goldstein.

After photos from the set surfaced in March 2025, it didn't take long before the pair found themselves at the center of romance speculation. 

Fans were quick to point out Goldstein's longtime crush on Lopez. The Ted Lasso star had previously  in Hustlers during a 2018 episode of his podcast, Films to Be Buried With.

For her part, Lopez was newly single when she began filming with Goldstein, having filed for divorce from Affleck in August 2024.

Although there is no romance brewing between the pair, a second source suggested Lopez has no problem helping to elevate Goldstein's star power - even if that means playing up their rumored relationship for the spotlight.

'Brett is a star, but he isn't a leading man that everyone knows about and cares about,' the second insider said.

'This movie he is doing with Jen, it is her job to make him and she is taking on that position to heart. She wants him to be the next big thing.

'If the movie is received well and he also gets the shine from "being in a relationship" with J-Lo, it shows that he is important and on his way to leading man status. As much as there is chemistry, they are also playing the game to make him into something he isn't yet.'

They added: 'She will take the attention it brings and she will gladly give him some shine, but it is currently nothing more than a showmance for them over a romance.'

After all Lopez previously revealed she has found her 'happy era' in single life.

In an interview with Good Morning America last March, the singer said she was in her 'happy era' following her divorce from Affleck.

'I'm in my happy era,' Lopez told the outlet. 'I think, for the first time in my life, I feel like I'm free; I'm on my own. And it feels really good.'

The singer acknowledged that being single was an unusual feeling for her, considering she had spent much of her adult life in relationships - many of them on and off with Affleck.

'I didn't really know what that felt like since I was in my early 20s - and even before that,' she said. 'I've always had boyfriends. There was always someone in my life, and so many things that I felt like were out of my control.'

The former couple - who rekindled their romance in 2021 nearly two decades after calling off their first engagement - finalized their divorce in January the following year.

According to the first insider, Lopez's split from Affleck left the pop star 'devastated' and reluctant to get back into the dating world.

'Men and dating are not things she's interested in at all right now. She's really happy and in a great place, but because of everything she's gone through, she isn't wanting to date,' the first source said.

Still, Lopez and Affleck have maintained a close bond for the sake of their blended family. 

Affleck shares three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, while Lopez shares 18-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

Last September, Lopez was  in Los Angeles with Affleck's son Samuel, 14. The exes also reunited in December, when Affleck's child Fin and Lopez's child Emme starred in a school play together.

That same month, Lopez and Affleck were seen with his son Samuel while shopping for the holidays at Brentwood Country Mart in Los Angeles.

The first source maintained that the former couple 'do still spend time together' and their children 'are still very close and see one another all of the time.'

'They never stopped being close just because they got a divorce,' they added.

Notably, Affleck supported Lopez at the October 2025 premiere of her film Kiss of the Spider Woman, for which he also served as executive producer. 

In interviews, Affleck praised his ex-wife's 'fabulous' performance and posed for photos with her on the red carpet.

Their bond was even further evidenced last month, when in their $61 million Beverly Hills marital home.

The exes, who purchased the sprawling estate in May 2023 for $60.85 million have been attempting to sell it since July 2024, with multiple price cuts along the way.

According to legal documents obtained by the Daily Mail in April, the former couple quietly amended their property January 2025 settlement and added a 'stipulation and order' to modify specific terms of their estate. 

The updated terms stated that Lopez 'shall be solely responsible for all expenses' associated with any future sale of her interest in the home, and there will be a 'transfer of property' in the future.

Lopez signed the agreement on March 31 and Affleck signed it on April 1, a move that appeared to hint he has relinquished his stake in the property.

Although the source suggested that their opposing lifestyles and Affleck's disdain towards 'attention and fame' had posed a 'huge mismatch' for their relationship, the insider hinted that things may not entirely be over for the former couple.

'Do people see them getting back together? No. Never say never? Yes. She believed in this marriage and its ending devastated her,' they said.

'She loves love but dating hasn't been her top priority after this divorce. These two will always love each other.'
