JLo’s Scathing Remarks on Insecure Ex-Husband Ojani Noa and A-Lister Crush

Jennifer Lopez recently came under attack from her ex-husband Ojani Noa who accused her of cheating on him during their marriage – but it seems she had her own choice words to say about her ‘insecure’ ex at the time.

In a resurfaced 1998 interview, the singer and actress, 56, who was married to Ojani at the time it took place, didn’t hold back as she accused her partner of struggling with her earning millions more and supporting their lifestyle.

Jennifer and Ojani married a year after they met at Gloria Estefan’s Cuban restaurant in Miami Beach while she was shooting Blood and Wine, tying the knot in 1997 before splitting just 11 months later. 

Speaking to the now defunct Movieline magazine, JLo made a series of surprising claims about her then husband and even revealed who she would be tempted to hook up with out of her former co-stars.

Jennifer, who admitted she was warned not to marry so fast, took aim at Ojani and insisted he hadn’t fulfilled his ‘potential’ and couldn’t cope with her incredible levels of success and wealth.

She said: ‘This business is tougher on women who are doing better than men because men are raised to be the supporters. We still live with those sensibilities. It’s tough for me because the men I’m attracted to, for some reason, haven’t gotten it together. Even my husband, I feel, has a lot of potential but he’s not at the point where… 

‘I mean, even though he has lots of contacts, even though he’s doing his own thing, opening a club and restaurant here, whatever business he gets in, he’s not gonna make as much money as me. That’s something he has to deal with and to live with, which is tough for someone like him. 

‘The man I’ve married is Latin and they, more than any other type of man, are very macho. I always joke with him, because he’s like, ‘You can see through that dress!’ or ‘Is there going to be a love scene in that next movie? You’re my wife. I don’t want anybody to think of you in that way.’

Jennifer added that if she asked her husband if he would prefer he stay home and ‘wash dishes’ rather than making them eye-watering amounts of money, he would.

Elsewhere during the bombshell chat, Jennifer was questioned on which of her former co-stars she would want to have a ‘thing’ with.

Knowing it would likely cause issues with Ojani, JLo said:  ‘Should I get myself in trouble with my husband? OK, in a parallel universe, Sean. I was engaged when we were shooting  and one day he said, ‘If I weren’t married and you weren’t engaged, would this have been a very different movie?’ And I go, ‘Yeah! Very different.’ So we kind of… well, we both had our own lives, so that made a real difference.’

The no holds barred interview also saw Jennifer take aim at other Hollywood heavyweights including Madonna, who she claimed ‘can’t act’. 

When asked for her opinion of the Material Girl among other high profile female celebrities, she said: ‘Do I think she’s a great performer? Yeah. Do I think she’s a great actress? No. Acting is what I do, so I’m harder on people when they say, ‘Oh, I can do that–I can act.’ I’m like, ‘Hey, don’t spit on my craft.’

Maybe it is no surprise that Jennifer’s marriage ended judging by her opinions on her ex-husband and his own claims that she was unfaithful to him.

This week Ojani accused the star of cheating on him in a scathing new attack – after the singer said she had never been truly loved by any of her past partners.

When asked by Howard Stern in a recent interview if she’d ever ‘truly been loved’, the star said no, adding: ‘What I learned, it’s not that I’m not lovable – it’s that they’re not capable…They don’t have it in them!’

The personal trainer Ojani appeared to have taken great offence to her comments about her love life and penned a statement in response on his Instagram this weekend.

He alleged that she cheated on him, saying ‘the problem is you’ and that she should ‘tell the truth for once’. 

Ojani wrote in his post: ‘Stop putting us down. Stop putting me down with your victim card. The problem is not us. Not me. 

‘The problem is you. You’re the one who couldn’t keep it in your pants.

‘You have been ‘loved’ a few times. You have been married 4 times. And have had countless relationships in between. You’ve had good relationships… Me for example.’

‘I was in love with you… I moved out of state to support, protect and care for you. I’m an amazing, loving person, great human being. Honest, faithful to you, never lied, never [misbehaved], never cheated on you. 

‘I was good to you. I’m too good of a [man] for you. You decided to lie, to cheat on me and even though I stayed… You begged me to keep the marriage intact to avoid bad press… But you went for the fast lane of your career/stardom not caring about me, you wanted to continue cheating and lying.’ 

‘Tell the truth for once… You should be embarrassed, ashamed of yourself.’

A representative for Jennifer was contacted by Daily Mail for comment. 

Jennifer took a swipe at her fourth ex-husband Ben Affleck and, well, every other man she’s ever been engaged to or married to in the past in the chat.

She said in the candid interview: ‘What I learned, it’s not that I’m not lovable — it’s that they’re not capable…They don’t have it in them!’

‘And they gave me what they had, right?’ Jennifer explained on the SiriusXM show.

‘They gave me all of it, every time – all the rings, all the things I could ever want, right? Tried to give me the houses, the rings, the marriage – all of it.’

And while Lopez felt she was giving all of her love to those past partners, she admitted she didn’t fully love herself and the men also needed to learn how to ‘appreciate the little person inside of them.’

The two-time Grammy nominee went on to say her February 21st divorce from Ben after two years of marriage ‘was the best thing that ever happened to me.’

‘It really made me journey into – I mean, I had a religious coach, I had a therapist, a couple’s therapist, an individual therapist, I had a coach to understand addiction. I had everything,’ Jennifer confessed.

‘I was like, ‘I’m gonna f***in’ figure this s*** out if it kills me.”

Last year Ojani spoke to The Daily Mail about their turbulent marriage.

‘I was the first, the pioneer,’ he said. ‘I was there at the beginning of her career supporting her, ­dealing with her anxieties and insecurities.

‘I was a really good husband because I believe in marriage. When we divorced, I was heartbroken. I feel when she got what she wanted, I was no longer needed.’

Marrying in 1997, a little over a year after meeting, they split just 11 months later.

‘I put a lot of time and effort into loving her,’ he said. ‘But when you’re with someone, you have to spend quality time with them and not think about being on camera.’

Ojani says it was he who called time on their marriage and a few days later says he received the divorce papers. 

He ­reportedly received a $50,000 settlement after their split in January 1998.

‘I never looked at another woman when I was with Jennifer,’ said Ojani, ‘But I felt like I was [being seen as] the bad guy.

‘[Her people] wanted to make her look good because of everything that was coming out – the movie, the album, and they didn’t want any bad publicity.

‘They made it sound like I didn’t want to be with her and it was the opposite.’
